Method 1 of 4: Coconut Milk from Packaged Grated Coconut
Step 1. Buy a pack of grated coconut
Buy unsweetened ones at your local supermarket or convenience store. The grated coconut should be found in the baking ingredients area.
Step 2. Put the grated coconut into the blender
Each half a coconut can be made into two cups of coconut milk. Weigh or measure the amount or amount of coconut you put in according to your needs.
Step 3. Bring the water to a boil
You need two cups of hot water for each glass of coconut milk. So, boil the water according to the amount of coconut milk you will make.
Step 4. Pour the hot water into the blender
If your blender is small, do it one at a time. Use a spoon to stir the mixture before blending.
Step 5. Blend the grated coconut with water
Close your blender and turn on the blender, waiting until the mixture of water and grated coconut becomes smooth. Hold the lid tightly, because when you blend something hot, the lid might just fall off.
Step 6. Filter the results
Make sure the filter you are using has a small or tight hole. Or, you can use a light cloth instead. The liquid that comes out of the filter is what becomes your coconut milk. Don't forget to squeeze the remaining grated coconut left in the sieve to get the remaining coconut milk that is still there.
Step 7. Save your coconut milk
Pour the coconut milk into a bottle or any container with a lid, then store it in the refrigerator. The fat contained in this milk will immediately rise to the top. So, if you want to use it later, shake the place first to spread the fat back.
Method 2 of 4: Coconut Milk from Coconut Flour
Coconut flour or desiccated grated coconut is usually finer than regular grated coconut.
Step 1. Mix coconut flour with equal amounts of water or milk in a saucepan
Not everyone likes to include milk or other products that are not from plants to make coconut milk. But that's still your choice, and you can still use water if you don't want to use milk
Step 2. Heat on low heat for two to four minutes
Don't forget to stir it, and don't heat it for too long (let alone bring it to a boil).
Step 3. Strain through a sieve or cheesecloth
Pour the liquid into the bowl
Step 4. Use a cloth to wrap the coconut pulp
Don't throw away the coconut pulp immediately. Squeeze out as much of the remaining coconut milk as possible and pour it into a bowl. Before squeezing, allow the coconut pulp to cool slightly so you don't hurt your hands.
Step 5. Done
Save or use your coconut milk as desired.
Method 3 of 4: Coconut Milk from Fresh Coconuts
Step 1. Open or split the coconut
Prepare the coconut whose husk has been removed. Hold the coconut with one hand, then slice it with a large knife or machete. Usually you will need to swing your knife in the same place several times until the part is completely cut off, then move, and so on until the coconut splits.
Use a really sharp knife, because the surface of the coconut shell is quite hard
Step 2. Make sure the coconut you use is still fresh
You can check it by the meat and the smell. If the meat is still moist and white and smells good, then the coconut is still fresh. But if it smells bad and the meat is dry and discolored, it's best to throw it away.
Step 3. Pour the coconut water into the blender
When you split a coconut, the coconut water must come out of the cut you are making. Put the coconut water into the blender. Depending on how you cut, you may have to scoop it up as soon as you make your first cut when splitting your coconut.
Another way to take this coconut water is to make a hole in the top of the coconut while it still has the coir, then remove the coconut water. After that, just start splitting the coconut
Step 4. Take the flesh of the fruit
Use a spoon or other tool to scoop out the coconut flesh. Take as much as you can. If your fruit is fresh, you should be able to pick up the flesh easily. Put the meat in a blender.
Step 5. Puree the meat and coconut water in a blender
Close the blender and turn it on on high until the coconut milk is smooth. After that you can immediately pour it or filter it first.
Step 6. Save the coconut milk
