After you escort Esbern back to Riverwood in the quest “Alduin's Wall,” she will reveal that you need to locate Alduin's Wall in order to figure out how to defeat Alduin the World-Eater. He would say that this location could be found within the ancient ruins of Akaviri and the former Blades' main base in the Sky Haven Temple. However, entering the Sky Haven Temple was not as easy as one might think.
Step
Step 1. Decide whether you are going alone or in a group
You will be given the choice to go alone or with Delphine and Esbern to the Sky Haven Temple. Traveling alone may be quicker as you can take fast travel or take a wagon to Markarth, then follow the road to the east. Traveling with Delphine and Esbern will be longer but safer as you are assisted by two companions to overcome the dangers at hand.
Step 2. Break through Karthspire Camp
A camp containing Forsworn will block your way to Sky Haven Temple. Not only that, you'll also encounter dragons flying around the campground.
- If you position yourself well, you can make dragons and Forsworn fight each other. Sneak close enough to the campsite, and Forsworn will start shooting arrows at the dragon, which will retaliate by clearing Forsworn for you. Then, you can go in and clean up the survivors at the campground.
- You can also deal with some Forsworn by slowly approaching camp, then using your bow and arrow to launch a stealth attack on the first Forsworn you come across. This will also attract multiple Forsworn at a time, making it easier to clear up instead of fighting the entire campsite at once.
- You don't have to worry about Esbern and Delphine during camp battles. Both have the in-game “essential” mark, which means they will only kneel when they run out of HP and never actually die, even if they get hit by dragon flames.
- You can skip most of this fight by running through the camp and entering Karthspire itself. Most of Forsworn will be busy fighting dragons so you have a chance to pass them and enter Karthspire.
Step 3. Remove obstructions in Karthspire
Stay alert when you enter the cave because you will also face some stronger Forsworn and Forsworn Briarheart inside. If you skip camp and head straight into Karthspire, you'll also need to overcome the chasing Forsworn and join the cave.
There are a few rolls here so you can rest to recover your HP after clearing out all the enemies
Step 4. Solve the first puzzle
Go through Karthspire and you'll eventually find the first puzzle. This puzzle involves three pillars that need to be rotated so that the Dragonborn symbol (heart-shaped pattern) is facing you. If you have, the bridge to the next puzzle will go down.
Step 5. Solve the second puzzle
You will find a room containing a pressure plate with a symbol on it. At the end of this room is a chain lever, which needs to be pulled to raise the bridge and stop the trap. Check the pressure plate and reach the chain lever by simply pressing the plate with the Dragonborn symbol. This symbol is the same as the symbol on the previous pillar. Pull the chain lever to lower the bridge to the next area.
This part will be easier if you use the Whirlwind Sprint Shout to go through the plates. Become Ethereal Shout will also negate damage from fire, while Light Foot from the Sneak skill tree lets you step on a plate without triggering it
Step 6. Use your blood to open the Sky Haven Temple
You'll find the huge head statue that Esbern mentions is in the image of Reman Cyrodiil, the Worldly God and founder of the Reman Dynasty. At first glance, this area seems to be a dead end, but Esbern will see the blood seal on the floor. This seal will only be opened by Dragonborn blood. Approach the seal, and wait for the character to give his blood to the seal. The boulder head will then be attracted and open access to the Blades' old main base in Sky Haven Temple.
