There are some small but effective tips to make your home look uninhabited, spooky and ready for Halloween. Here are a few things to try:
- Cover your sofa and chairs with a white cloth. Choose the oldest fabric you have to make your home look like it hasn't been used in years. It's even better if the fabric has natural looking holes.
- Cover your table with a torn black tablecloth. Take an old black cloth and roughly chop the edges.
- Place cobwebs on your bookshelf. If you have spooky books that are appropriate for Halloween, like the works of Edgar Allen Poe, display them prominently on a shelf or even place them on a side table.
- Place some fake skulls strategically to enhance the look of boring furniture.
Step 2. Light up your home
Your lighting will help create an eerie atmosphere for your home, so you should make the most of the light you have available while keeping your home looking gloomy, so something sinister can appear at any time.
