The style of the bun on the hair has recently returned to popularity. The bun can be found on the heads of the sexiest celebrities and those who are used to walking the red carpet. To look as modern as they are, try one of the three ways below to make a bun.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Classic Bun
Step 1. Brush your hair to make sure your hair is tangle-free
Smooth and frizz-free hair will make it easier to make a bun. Pull your hair back and form a ponytail. Make sure this pigtail is in the center of the head. Use a hair tie.
Step 2. Separate the hair so that you have two equal parts in a ponytail
Hold one pigtail in each of your hands.
Step 3. Tie these two ponytails together
Don't tie too tightly. Untangle any hair that might get tangled when you tie it.
Step 4. Tie the end of the knot
Take one end and loop it around the right side of the knot you made. Tuck it under or across the knot and use bobby pins to hold it in place. Do the same with the other end, only looping around the left side of the knot.
If you have long hair, tuck the ends of your hair under the knot
Step 5. Use hairspray to keep the bun in position
A medium-strength hairspray will do this, but if your hair is very thick and long, use a stronger hairspray. You may also need to use some bobby pins, especially if you have very thick hair.
Method 2 of 3: Separate Bun
Step 1. Use a hairbrush to smooth or straighten your hair
Make sure your hair is free of tangles as you will separate sections of your hair in this styling and get the best results if there are no visible knots.
Step 2. Create a ponytail
Make this pigtail at the bottom of your head at the nape of your neck, and use a hair tie to keep it in place. Divide your ponytail into two smaller pigtails and hold them in each hand.
Step 3. Twist and loop the right ponytail around the bottom of the left ponytail, then over the top of the larger first ponytail
Use bobby pins as needed (especially if you have thick hair).
Step 4. Take the left pigtail
Loop it over and over the right pigtail to form a loop. Use bobby pins or other hair bands to keep the pigtail in position.
Step 5. Use hairspray to keep the bun in place
You can also use pomade or hair serum.
You can also use a small comb or toothbrush to flatten or detangle your hair
Step 6. Done
Method 3 of 3: Side Bun
Step 1. Pull your hair to the side on the side you want
Step 2. Spin your ponytail
Twist in a tight roll, making sure the amount of hair that comes out of the pigtail is as little as possible. This spiral hair twist wraps around the base of your ponytail. Insert the ends of the hair that come out of the pigtail.
Step 3. Use bobby pins on the edge of the bun
You don't have to start with the bobby pins on one side--you'll be placing four bobby pins on the top left, top right, bottom left, and bottom right of your bun. Tuck in the bobby pins as if you were going to pierce your scalp, making sure the bobby pins reach the hair at the edge of the bun. Before these bobby pins touch your scalp, bend them toward the center of the bun, and press them down. This process will ensure that your bun stays in place as the bobby pins will reach the hair in the bun, then the hair on the scalp, and back to the hair in the bun again.

It's better to use a straight bobby pin than a bobby pin. Straight hairpins are stronger and can hold your bun in place even if you're at a large dance. Purchase these clips at a hair supply store or party store (you can find them because they are sought after by ballerinas who want to keep their hair in place).
Step 4. Use four bobby pins
As noted above, you'll be pinning four sections to your bun--one for each; on the top left, top right, bottom left, and bottom right of your bun. Doing this will ensure that your hair stays in place.
Step 5. Use hairspray to keep your hair in position
Even when you use very sturdy bobby pins, the bun has a tendency to unravel a bit after a few hours. By spraying hairspray on your bun, your hairstyle will last longer. Use a strong hairspray formula for the best effect.
