This wikiHow teaches you how to change the name you use in Roblox on your computer, phone, or tablet. As long as you have 1,000 Robux and a verified email address, you can change your username on any device you use to access your Roblox account.
Step
Step 1. Log in to your Roblox account
If you are using a computer, visit https://www.roblox.com, enter your account username and password, and select “ Login If you're using a phone or tablet, open the Roblox app (black and white diamond icon) on your home screen or app drawer.
Step 2. Click the gear icon
It's in the top-right corner of the page. The menu will open after that.
If you're using the Roblox app on an Android, iPhone, or iPad device, simply click the three-dot icon
Step 3. Click Settings on the menu
You will be taken to the "Account Info" section of the settings menu.
Step 4. Click the “Edit” icon next to the username
The name is at the top of the page, and the “Edit” icon is to the right. This icon looks like a square with a pencil on it.
- You must have 1,000 Robux in order to change your username. If you don't have enough Robux, you will see a pop-up window with the message "Insufficient Funds". Click " Buy ” if you want to buy Robux, then follow the on-screen instructions to make the payment.
- If you haven't linked an email address to your Robux account yet, you'll see a pop-up window with a message instructing you to link the address to your account first. Click " Add Email ” if you see it, then follow the on-screen instructions to add an email address.
Step 5. Type in the new username and confirm the password
If you have enough Robux on your account, you can enter a new username and confirm password at this point.
- Other players will still be able to see your old username.
- Don't choose a name you will regret. Name changes cost a lot of money!
Step 6. Click Buy for 1,000 Robux to confirm the new username
After paying for a new username with Robux, you can log in using that name. Use the same password as before to log in to the account.
Tips
- The account creation date and the number of forum posts will be carried over to the new username, but your old forum posts will still be displayed under the old username.
- You cannot change a username to a name that has already been taken by someone else, as is the case when you create an account username.
