You may start the day with a fresh fragrance like flowers and ready to get the day's work done. However, during the day you feel your freshness has disappeared. Do not worry! You just need to follow a few simple steps to make sure you smell good from morning to evening! Shower every day, wear clean clothes, and apply deodorant at night (and not during the day) to keep you smelling good and fresh all day.
Step
Part 1 of 3: Keeping Yourself Clean
Step 1. Take a shower or bath every day (or every other day)
So that your body always smells good, you need to take a shower every day or every two days. By cleansing the body, the odor that has accumulated on the skin and hair for 24 or 48 hours can be removed. Use warm water (not hot water) and try to shower for less than 15 minutes to conserve water.
Step 2. Rub all over your body while showering
Clean the whole body using soap and a washcloth. Pay attention to areas behind the ears, back of the neck, legs, and areas that sweat frequently such as the armpits and inner thighs (including the groin). Do not forget to clean the chest, genitals, and buttocks.
- If you have sensitive skin, avoid using soaps that contain too much perfume or antibacterial ingredients.
- Do not use a loofah because it can become a breeding ground for bacteria. Instead, use a washcloth or even your own hands.
Step 3. Wash your hair regularly
It is important that you wash your hair regularly because your hair absorbs odors around you. Massage the shampoo into your scalp to remove bad odors and dirt. Rinse hair thoroughly with clean water. If you want, apply conditioner to your hair and let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing it off with cold water.
- If you have dry hair, don't shampoo more than once a day.
- Do not wash your hair too often so that the natural oils in your hair are not removed. Washing twice a week is enough.
Step 4. Brush your teeth twice a day
To keep your breath fresh, brush your teeth in the morning and evening, every day. Dispense a small amount of paste onto the toothbrush and brush your teeth in short vertical or circular motions. Make sure you clean every side of your teeth, as well as your gums and tongue. Allocate at least 2 minutes each time you brush your teeth.
- Replace your toothbrush every 3-4 months to prevent the buildup of bacteria and sores on the gums caused by damaged bristles.
- Don't forget to floss between your teeth every day!
Step 5. Use deodorant and/or antiperspirant products at night
As counterintuitive as it may sound, you actually need to use deodorant or antiperspirant products at night, and not in the morning. This way, the ingredients in the product can absorb into the skin and prevent the sweat glands from producing bad odors and sweat.
You can even take a shower in the morning without worrying about the effectiveness of the deodorant used. Take it easy! The product is already absorbed into the skin
Part 2 of 3: Ward off the Smell
Step 1. Wear clean clothes every day
Change your clothes, including shirts and pants, all underwear (e.g. panties, bras, and socks), and any other items that touch the skin (e.g. tank tops, camis, or underskirts). Clean clothes will keep you smelling fresh all day long.
You also need to change socks several times a day if your feet smell or sweat a lot
Step 2. Clean your clothes after wearing them
It's a good idea to wash your clothes after use to remove odors. You don't need to use an expensive detergent and it contains a strong fragrance. However, make sure the detergent is able to eradicate hidden odors from inside the clothes and make your clothes fresh (and of course clean).
You can add 120 ml of white vinegar to the washing machine on the rinse cycle to help remove odors and sweat stains
Step 3. Clean your shoes regularly
Shoes can quickly smell bad if you don't clean them often because sweat and bacteria will build up. When shoes are dirty or smelly, machine wash them and dry them in the sun. Before washing again, put the newspaper in the shoe and leave it overnight to get rid of the odor. You can also insert a dryer sheet so that your shoes smell good.
- If your shoes are not washable, use a cotton swab moistened with alcohol to wipe the inside and kill bacteria.
- Prepare several pairs of shoes and alternate them if possible. Put on a pair of shoes today and put on another pair the next day so you can aerate and dry the shoes you're not wearing.
Step 4. Don't eat spices, onions and garlic
Even though these ingredients are good for you, the smell they produce will escape through the pores of your skin and make your breath bad. Alcohol and red meat can also change body odor, so try to reduce your consumption of both types of food. Instead, choose fresh fruits and vegetables.
Step 5. Maintain body fluids
By keeping your body hydrated, your skin will stay moisturized so that the fresh scent of lotions and perfumes can stick to your skin better. Men need to drink 3 liters of water every day, while women need to drink 2 liters of water every day.
Step 6. Use a sweet-smelling moisturizer
After bathing, you can apply a fragrant lotion on the skin. If you also want to use perfume or cologne, make sure the scents match or are similar so they don't "compete" or mask other scents. Reuse the product as necessary, such as after washing your hands.
Step 7. Spray on your favorite fragrance
When using perfume or cologne, spray the product on pulse points such as the wrists, behind the ears, behind the knees, and the inside of the elbows. This way, the scent will last longer because the perfume or cologne is warmed by body heat and spread throughout the day.
- If you want a lighter scent, just spray some perfume or cologne into the air and walk through it.
- Don't rub perfume on your skin (eg by rubbing your wrists together) because the perfume won't last long.
Part 3 of 3: Refreshing the Body All Day
Step 1. Prepare the necessary equipment
Chewing gum, mints, mouthwash, wet wipes (to clean armpits or other body parts), deodorant, cologne or perfume, foot spray, scented lotion, and a change of clothes or socks are items you can prepare. Simply tuck them into a small bag and store them in a desk drawer, backpack, or car.
When needed, simply grab your gear and ask permission to go to the bathroom to change clothes or freshen up
Step 2. Change clothes or socks if necessary
This is a simple and effective way to make sure you smell good all day long. If your clothes or socks are damp from sweat or smell, replace them with new clothes or socks. Store dirty clothes in sealed plastic bags to make sure the smell doesn't come out. Make sure you also take dirty clothes home and wash them immediately.
Step 3. Use chewing gum, mint, or mouthwash to freshen your breath
If you want to use mouthwash, choose a product that doesn't contain alcohol. Keep in mind that alcohol causes dry mouth, while dry mouth causes bad breath. Meanwhile, chewing gum or mints that are chewed or sucked help produce saliva. If you choose mint flavored candy, your breath will smell fresh.
Step 4. Reapply deodorant as needed
If you've been exercising or sweating a lot, or if your body starts to smell bad, you can reuse deodorant. Use a damp tissue or washcloth that has been moistened to clean the armpits first. Pat dry by patting a soft paper towel on your underarms, then reapply deodorant.
Step 5. Spray perfume or cologne
If the perfume tends to wear off after a few hours, take the time to re-spray the perfume. Do not be indifferent to your body odor! Just spray perfume on your ankles or wrists and let your body heat spread the fragrance of the perfume.
Tips
- Keep a dryer sheet or bar of soap in the drawer to keep your clothes smelling nice and fresh.
- If you're going to a gym class at school, make sure you bring deodorant and perfume and keep those products in your locker or school bag so you can freshen up after showering or changing clothes.
