Many people often use the term "secret to success". Regardless of whether there is a secret, know that success can be achieved in various ways and does not require a specific formula to achieve it. Success is a combination of good habits, persistence, and luck that you can have by changing your attitude and behavior.
Step
Part 1 of 2: Correcting a Negative Mentality
Step 1. Break the habit of procrastination
Even if you avoid it, tasks you don't like will still await. Make a schedule for getting the less enjoyable work done by breaking it down into smaller, easier-to-find tasks. After that, do the task in between jobs that you like. Allowing unpleasant tasks to pile up by completing the work you enjoy only fuels frustration.
Don't put fun first. Research shows that work productivity increases if you are able to delay pleasure, that is, a pleasurable activity so you want to do it, instead of putting it off. In addition to reducing stress, this method makes you feel happier when you experience pleasant things
Step 2. Get rid of negative thoughts
Remember that the road to success is not always a pleasant one because there will be difficulties, failures, and experiences that make you doubt your own commitment. Whatever path you take, be prepared to face difficult times by trying to find the positive side in any situation as long as you strive for success.
Know that a positive mental attitude is an important aspect of being a successful entrepreneur
Step 3. Don't use other people's success as a yardstick
Fair competition is beneficial, but don't let competition make you lose sight of your own goals and interests. The habit of comparing yourself to others makes you negative because this behavior will trigger feelings of disappointment, envy, and low self-esteem.
Give compliments to coworkers. If a colleague, coworker, or subordinate is successful, show appreciation by giving praise. In this way, the other person and the team will grow
Step 4. Accept failure
Instead of seeing failure as a negative experience, view failure as a reminder to introspect. Failure always reveals the truth about the means you use or the goals you want to achieve. Sometimes, we can only achieve success after becoming a tough person after we are able to face difficulties, failures, and struggle to get up again.
- To quote Henry Ford's message: "Failure is an opportunity to start again, but this time in a smarter way."
- Know that failure is not necessarily the result of a faulty idea. Failure can occur because the right idea is realized in the wrong way. Don't just ignore what you've started or make a complete change. For example: if you work in a company or collaborate, one of the keys to success is a good understanding of each other's responsibilities.
Step 5. Prioritize business continuity
When you are just starting out in business, working or doing any kind of business, make business continuity your main goal. Don't aim for things too high or too big by making unrealistic plans for a growing business.
Unrealistic plans are impossible to realize. For example: You want to provide coffee to homeless people around the world by opening a coffee shop, but this dream is difficult to realize if you don't focus on managing and maintaining the continuity of the business you are starting. Every business should have long-term goals, but these goals will not be achieved if you ignore short-term goals
Part 2 of 2: Forming Good Habits
Step 1. Strive to achieve something meaningful in your life
The desire to achieve something happy keeps you motivated, especially when life isn't that great. Strive for something that matters to you, instead of just pursuing what makes you always feel good. Focus on achieving something that you will later be proud of.
Step 2. Determine the priority tasks
Complete the tasks that provide the most long-term benefits. Know the difference between tasks that are “important” (beneficial in the long run) and tasks that are “less important” (easier to do, but less useful).
Step 3. Finish your work
Finish what you have started. Completing one job well provides multiple benefits over doing dozens of neglected tasks, even if you don't want to continue the job.
Step 4. Face the unexpected
A successful innovator will usually be admired and idolized, but forcing a desire to realize a useless idea is a wasted effort. Don't be afraid to explore new things because great ideas are hard to come by, but the hard work you put in will pay off.
Step 5. Build a network to socialize
Using networks to advertise tends to give the impression of being mercenary and selfish. Know that networking plays a big role in business success, but remember that you also have to build personal relationships. Who knows, you may get the opportunity to collaborate through unexpected experiences and bring you together with the right business partners, investors or employees.
