Boredom can be a lot of fun when you know what you can do. All you have to do is find things to fill your time and you won't feel bored anymore. Check out step 1 to start getting rid of your boredom!
Step
Step 1. Try cooking or baking
While baking or cooking, you can pass the time and enjoy the delicious dishes that are produced. Get your cookbook ready or search the internet for delicious recipes and try them out.
Step 2. Beautify yourself
Try different styles and see the results on your face. Open your closet and mix and match clothes for the next few days. Match your clothes and make-up, and customize the accessories.
Paint your nails. Decorate your nails with beautiful colors or different colors
Step 3. Try watching a movie
You can search for movies on the internet, on TV, or go to movie rentals. You can even try going to the movies. Or maybe, try watching movies you don't normally watch like documentaries or mysteries.
Step 4. Practice something
If you can't find something interesting to do, try practicing something you enjoy. For example, if you're a soccer player, take the ball to your backyard or nearby park and practice dribbling or shooting. Or, if you play the piano, try sitting down and playing some more fruit. You don't have to read the sheet music, just play your favorite song.
Step 5. Clean your room
Make sure everything looks neat and clean. A clean room can help make you feel comfortable. In addition, a tidy room can also give you the spirit to overcome boredom and do other things.
Tidy up your closet. As long as you feel bored, try doing something out of the ordinary like tidying up your wardrobe. Sort out your clothes and separate the ones you can no longer wear. You'll feel good after you've managed to make room for a new outfit
Step 6. Clean the places you usually ignore
Head to the attic or garage and see what you can clean or throw away. You might even find items you lost during cleaning.
Places that are usually rarely cleaned are the back of the cupboard, the handle of the toilet paper holder, the light plug, and the dishwasher. Get a clean rag and wipe those places
Step 7. Make a craft
If you have a little time, it's time to continue the craft that you haven't done in a long time. Turn on the music so you're even more excited to finish it!
- Decorate your room. Install a painting that has been stored in the garage for a long time. If you can, decorate the living room too. Move the furniture, or repaint the walls.
- Repair household appliances. Maybe your sink is leaking and needs repair, or the stairs on the terrace are a little curved. Use this time to fix the squeaky door and you'll feel good about getting something done!
Step 8. Do something with your pet
If you have pets, give them a bath or trim their nails. Or teach your pet a new trick to show your family members and friends.
Method 1 of 5: Making Videos
Step 1. Call or message a friend of yours who might not be busy and ask them to come make a video together
It can be your vent friend or even a friend you rarely talk to.
Step 2. Explain to them, when they get to your house, what video ideas you have
Say that you want to make a 'What to do when you're bored' video.
Step 3. Make a list of 10-50 things you want to do
The number depends on how many things you can think of.
Step 4. Set up the camera
Whether using an iPad camera, a camera that has video, or an iPhone, whatever works. Make sure you have an app for editing and merging; There are many apps to do it in app store.
Step 5. Record it
It's better to ask one of your friends to say the activity you want to do, then the other friend to do the activity after your friend says it, by recording two separate videos.
Step 6. Merge the videos using the app from the app store
Remember, there are lots of apps you can download and try, and if you don't like them or they're not what you expected, delete them and try something else.
Step 7. Listen again
If you don't like it, record the part you don't like or re-record it from scratch. If you like it, post the video on media like Facebook, Google+, YouTube or Twitter, or even Instagram, although you are only allowed to post 15-minute videos. It's still appropriate to show off the things you can do, to your friends.
Step 8. Watch the video sometime, when you are bored
This video will remind you of things you can do when you're bored!
Method 2 of 5: Entertaining Yourself While Traveling
Step 1. Pay attention to other people
One of the best parts of traveling is being in a crowded place to pay attention to. Whenever you get bored in crowded places (stations, airports, terminals, cafes, etc.), pay attention to the people around you.
Make up stories about the people you see. The woman in the zebra leggings? He was an international spy who was about to meet his superiors. He wears a striped shirt to keep people's attention away from his face
Step 2. Eavesdrop
Listen to the conversations around you. Try to find the weirdest conversations to listen to and make sure you don't get caught listening. Act as if you are reading a book or magazine.
- Write down what you hear and turn it into a short story or poem.
- If you're traveling with other people, turn it into a game. Race to hear the weirdest conversation or sentence.
Step 3. Create another character
When you travel, you can be whoever you want to be. Make a character that makes sense and act like that character when you're on a plane, terminal, waiting for a train, and more. See if you can get people to believe in your character.
Step 4. Make a game
Sometimes this is the only way to keep yourself entertained, whether you are a child or an adult. You can play the regular game "I Spy" which is really fun for kids in the car. You can also create your own game, depending on where you are.
Create a point system for annoying people. This will help if you are stranded somewhere during the busy holiday season. There will be annoying people, and turning that annoying habit into a game will make it more acceptable. For example: you get +10 points if someone cuts you off the line, or +5 if a child screams all the time on planes
Step 5. Call or message a friend
Pay attention to the things other people do and share your strange travel experiences with them. You can think of ideas to fill your spare time. You can talk to someone and pass the time.
Method 3 of 5: Entertaining Yourself Outside the Home
Step 1. Exercise
A great way to get rid of boredom is to exercise. You will produce endorphins, which will make you feel more comfortable and make your body happy. Run, bike, walk, investigate the city you live in, yoga, jump but, hula hoop.
Take your time to investigate the city you live in. You can exercise, get rid of boredom, and maybe find hidden places
Step 2. Go on a walk
Grab your car, bus ticket or bike and get out of your city. Take a bus somewhere you don't normally go, cycle through streets full of mansions, discover secret gardens.
Step 3. Give the objects to the food bank
In particular, if you've been spending your time circling the house and getting rid of things you don't need, you can give them to the food bank; items such as unused (but still good, unstained or torn) clothes, or canned food.
You can also help with the food bank, help refill food supplies and/or serve food if they also serve food. This is a great way to make changes and pass the time rather than being used to doing nothing
Step 4. Spend your time at a nearby animal shelter
Help take care of the animals, take the dogs for walks and bathe them. Animal shelters often need volunteers to help and it can be great fun playing with the animals (especially if you don't have a pet), and you doing something useful.
Step 5. Ask a friend or parent if they need any help
You don't need to help strangers, you can help people you know. Offer to help take care of the garden or clean their house. This will make your free time useful, have friends to travel with, and do something nice for other people. Not a bad way to relieve boredom.
Method 4 of 5: Entertaining Yourself at Work or Studying in Class
Step 1. Doodling
This is a great way to keep your hands busy while your brain is focused on what the teacher or professor is saying. You can also do this at work, when you're thinking about a project you have to work on next or if you're just trying to look busy in front of the boss.
If you like it, you can hold a doodle competition with your friends or coworkers. Try to beat each other with a fantastic image, or add another image, to create a truly wild image
Step 2. Do some creative work
You like to challenge yourself at work or in class and if you are bored, you may feel less challenged. Try to do challenging and interesting work and offer it to your boss or teacher.
Step 3. Tidy something up
When you have free time at work or at school, it's time to tidy things up a bit. Sometimes, it can help you find your productivity again. Clean your workplace or school folder. Make sure everything is in the right place and can be found easily.
Step 4. Clean your computer
Clean the screen and the distance between the buttons. If your computer used to be white, do your best to bring your laptop back to its original color.
Organize your computer so you can find most of the things you're looking for. Put the pictures in the folder labeled pictures and make sure all your documents are in the correct folder
Step 5. Meditate
If you have free time and are bored, you can use your time to meditate. This will help calm your mind and keep you focused on the work to come. This is a good return strategy.
Sit nicely at your desk and close your eyes (or pretend you're working). Inhale deeply then exhale, and watch your breath. If you feel like you're thinking about something, just let it go, and forget about it
Step 6. Reading
Reading is fun and you can read books, magazines or newspapers. Reading something helps pass the time by providing something to keep your brain interested. Sometimes, free time is the perfect time to try something new.
- Usually, you can hide a book under your textbook in class or under your desk at work. It makes you look like you're working or paying attention to materials, when in fact you're doing something more fun.
- Read a mystery and try to guess the solution before detectives solve it, or try a fantasy or science fiction book. Read something non-fiction or spiritual, philosophical, paranormal, or even a holy book like the Bible or the Koran.
- Check out the books you can get from the library and take them on your way to or from work or class. Some libraries even have online databases so you can check the books available there without ever leaving your home or work!
Step 7. Learn something new
Free time is a great time to learn something new and interesting. Then, you can impress your friends or family. Learn how to do magic, know how to breathe fire, or create chain messages!
Step 8. Surf online
If you have a computer in front of you, you can use it to surf the internet. Just make sure that you don't get caught by your boss or teacher. You can use this time to entertain yourself or learn something new.
- Head to Craigslist or Ebay and find the weirdest things you can look for. Post them to your Twitter, Facebook, or Tumblr account.
- Visit Instagram, Facebook, or Vine. Upload photos, share stories, and view other people's posts and photos.
- Watch random videos on YouTube. Choose funny videos if you want something funny, choose videos that are watched a lot for entertainment and stay up to date.
- Use Pinterest. Choose a topic you like and create a forum, add pictures you like. Or look at other people's pictures.
Step 9. Have a chat with your coworkers
Sometimes, the best way to entertain yourself when you're bored is to talk to other people. Pick someone you don't know very well and ask questions about them (Where are they from? Where do they go to school? What are their favorite things to do outside of work?). You may make new friends.
Method 5 of 5: Entertaining Yourself with Friends
Step 1. Compromise
If you can't agree on something, find something you want to do and combine it with what your friend wants to do. Say you want to watch a movie and your friend wants to bake a cake, try making a red carpet-themed cake with edible film decorations (if you're really good at baking), and then watch a cake-themed movie. This example may not be great, but you can understand the picture.
Step 2. Listen to the song
Maybe there is something in your favorite song that will inspire you. This seems like a weird idea, but give it a try! Try a song that describes something familiar to you, and look for it in that song.
Step 3. Eat
It can become a habit of piling up calories, but cook something with your friends. Then, get rid of your excess calories by exercising. Eating when you're bored isn't a bad habit if you exercise, especially if you eat a healthy diet. But, if you want to exercise, make sure you've had plenty of drinks beforehand, and turn the exercise into a game! Race bikes with your friends or run and catch up with your friends.
Step 4. Challenge others
But, don't go too far. If you are in a crowded place, this is the right time. Challenge your friend to meet a stranger and ask if he wants your leftover lemons, for example. If you're at school, the best way to make lunch more interesting is to challenge a few of your friends to sit at different tables, with some of their enemies or the opposite sex, and act casual.
Step 5. Create dance moves with friends
First, choose a good song, then decide on the dance moves, and finally, the costumes. Next, set a date to perform this dance and practice it every day!
