You don't always have to pay a fortune to get a haircut. Cutting a girl's hair can be done with a few simple tips, the right guidelines and the right scissors. Getting a quality haircut does take some skill, but if you feel you can beat the challenge, try shaving or trimming the girl's hair when she needs it.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Hairstyle
Step 1. Start by washing your hair
Hair should be clean and damp before cutting. After washing your hair, dry it with a towel to remove any excess water, then comb through until there are no tangles of hair.
- Comb the hair from the ends, then pull up to the roots to straighten the tangles. This will prevent hair breakage and won't hurt the scalp.
- You should always use a comb to remove the tangled sections of hair. Do not use a brush comb.
Step 2. Find a bright spot
To get a good haircut, you need to be in a bright place. The girl whose hair is being shaved should sit up straight on a chair high enough so that the barber does not have to bend over.
Step 3. Comb the hair
First of all, the hair should be combed straight back, then separated according to the style. If the hair is parted in the middle, separate the pieces in the middle. If the hair is parted to the left or right, follow the pattern. Hair will usually fall according to the model.
Check the area behind the ear for tangles or clumps of hair. All hair should be combed straight down for a good cut
Step 4. Use sharp scissors
The ideal scissors to use are styling scissors that are specially designed for cutting hair. Dull scissors can't cut hair "cleanly," and can cause split ends. In addition, blunt scissors will also bend or press the hair down before it is cut, making the hairline appear uneven.
Step 5. Start cutting your hair from the middle of the back
This is useful as a guide for cutting hair forward and sideways. You will use the result of the haircut in the back as a reference when cutting the side of the head so that the result is even.
- Pull up the back of the hair, then grab the ends through your index and middle fingers. There will be about 2 cm of hair sticking out from between your fingers. Cut the hair evenly. For a softer look, you can trim the ends of your hair by holding the scissors at a 45-degree angle.
- The amount of hair cut depends on the length, but is usually about 2 to 6 cm long. Cut the hair a little, then cut again if it's still not short.
- Ask the shaved person to lean forward slightly when cutting the back of the hair for a more even shave.
Step 6. Trim the hair on the sides
Cut the hair from the markings at the back to the sides of the head. When cutting hair that falls on the shoulders, have the person being shaved tilt their head in the opposite direction. This will make the hair cut more evenly.
Step 7. Trim the hair on the other side
When you've finished trimming one side, return to the shaving marker on the back of your head, then start shaving the other side. Have the shaved person tilt their head the other way, and make sure the cut is flush with the back of the head you're marking.
Step 8. Check the length of the hair on both sides
When you're done, stand in front of the person being shaved and grip the hair on either side of his head. Move the hair down and see if they are the same length. If one side is longer, shave it until it's really neat.
If you cut your hair in front of a mirror, you can see whether the hair is average by standing behind the person being shaved and looking at the reflection in the mirror
Step 9. Finish the cutting process with a hairdryer
Remember, as your hair dries, it will appear a little shorter. If you notice any uneven areas after your hair dries, moisten them again and smooth them out with scissors.
Method 2 of 3: Creating Layered Cuts
Step 1. Wash the hair you want to cut, then dry it with a towel
Hair should be clean and damp when shaving. Comb until there are no tangles, then apply conditioner if needed.
Determine the desired hair length before marking
Step 2. Divide the hair into sections
The layers of hair on each side should be the same length. To do this, you must divide each side into several symmetrical sections. The trick is to pull the section of hair that you want to layer with a comb from the back towards the face. Here are the sections you need to mark:
- When dividing sections of hair, twist each section into a small loop. After that, tie the loop with hair clips until you are ready to cut the section.
- Put the "upper loop" together. Use a comb to separate the top left and right sides of the hair. Use the tip of the eyebrow as a marker of how far this part needs to be spread. Divide this halves into two. One part should flow from the crown to the forehead, while the other part should flow from the crown to the center of the back of the head. This hair will be combed forward and parted in half. The back of the hair that is in the middle area down does not need to be layered. This section can be left loose or clamped back.
- Divide the left and right sides of the hair in the front. These sections start from the temples to the tips of the ears. Start by combing the back of the hair, then work it forward, in line with the bottom of the ear.
Step 3. Determine the angle of your haircut
When you're cutting or trimming your hair, you can hold the scissors at a 45-degree angle and use the ends of the scissors to cut the hair a little at a time. This can result in a slightly uneven cut that looks more natural.
When cutting, you should not position the scissors at the bottom of the hair, but slightly pull the scissors after cutting, then start cutting again
Step 4. Start from the “top loop” area
Take the hairpin at the top front. Make sure your hair is still damp and neatly combed. Lift your hair at a 90-degree angle to your head, holding it with your index and middle fingers. It's important to cut your hair from this angle so that it falls more naturally. Slide your fingers down until you reach the desired length. After that, cut the hair that is tucked between your fingers.
- Trim your hair slightly longer than your desired layer to allow room to correct mistakes. Keep in mind that your hair will shorten slightly as it dries.
- Layers of hair are usually cut below the ear canal or above the jaw line to form the face frame. We recommend that one section of hair outlet, then cut to the desired length. After that, you can pull your hair up and use it as a benchmark for the rest of the hair that hasn't been cut.
Step 5. Trim the left front
Now, remove the bobby pin on the left side of the hair. Brush the hair, then pull it to the top front. Let some of the hair fall so you can manage the excess hair. Hold the left section of hair between your fingers, then trim as desired. Remember, cutting hair from an angle can result in a more natural cut.
If necessary, you can trim the fallen hair to add layers
Step 6. Cut the front right
Next, remove the pin from the right part of the hair. Brush your hair, then move your fingers at a 90-degree angle from your head. Move your finger down until you reach the side of your face where the hair layer ends. Make sure this section is flush with the other side you just trimmed. Use one hand to pull on the freshly cut layer so you can match the two sides. When you're ready, cut the hair that's tucked between your fingers.
Step 7. Comb the hair
When you've finished styling each section of hair, check the length of the layers. Align the two to make sure everything is symmetrical. If one side appears shorter than the other, repeat the steps above to shorten the section that is too long. Don't rush into making adjustments so that the end result is not shorter than desired.
Step 8. Dry the hair
Use a round brush when blow-drying your hair to remove layers of cut hair. Turn the brush inward when the hair is dry to blend the short layers with the long ones. If you notice an area in your hair that needs to be shortened again, remember to re-moisturize your hair before cutting it. If you only moisturize one side, you won't be able to match both sides of your hair because wet hair looks a little longer than dry hair.
Method 3 of 3: Trimming Bangs
Step 1. Prepare the bangs
When trimming or shaping bangs for the first time, the front of the hair should be dry and neatly combed before cutting. Use a comb to separate the area to be trimmed. Secure any remaining hair that you don't want to cut by tying or pinning it.
- Bangs should be no longer than the eyebrows. Also, bangs will look slicker if they are made in a triangular pattern with the top center about 7.5 cm from the bottom of the hairline.
- One common problem when cutting bangs is cutting them too short. That's why bangs should be trimmed in dry hair conditions.
- Leave the bangs longer than you want. That way, you can figure out what shape you want, and then make adjustments.
Step 2. Make a slightly curved cut
Bangs should not be cut straight. However, this hair should be cut in an arc at the temples to help you create a “frame” for your face. However, this depends on the desired end result.
Step 3. Gather the hair
If you just want to trim your bangs, you'll need to work your bangs through the bottom to the point where you want to trim them. If you want to create new bangs, use a comb to separate the hair you want to cut. Depending on the thickness of the hair, the bangs are usually made from the center of the head and bent towards either side of the temples. You can experiment to find the style you want.
Step 4. Cut the middle
Make a straight cut in the hair that flows down your forehead, just below the comb. Cut the section in the direction of the curve. By starting in the middle, you have better control over the end point of the bangs. Point the scissor down as it reaches the tip to create a gradual effect. When one side is finished, move the scissors back to the center, then cut the other side.
Step 5. Make sure the bangs are symmetrical
Use your fingertips to pull the hair between your index and middle fingers. Make sure the bangs are symmetrical on both sides. If they are not aligned, carefully trim the excess length. Trim the bangs little by little to make sure you don't cut the long sections too short. This can make the bangs shorter than desired.
Step 6. Smooth the corners of the bangs from a 45 degree angle
Once the bangs are even, hold the scissors vertically from a 45-degree angle. Trim the ends of the bangs by making small cuts, so they look smoother. Be careful not to shorten the bangs.
Step 7. Clean the hair that has been cut
Use a makeup brush or hairdryer to get rid of any tiny bits of hair stuck to it. If the bangs turn out to be shorter than desired, there's no need to worry. On average, hair grows 2 cm per month. This figure is a significant amount for a bang.
Tips
- Keep hair damp while cutting and styling. Keep a water spray bottle nearby to moisturize your hair when needed.
- When creating layers of hair, you have to cut it a little at a time. As a rule of thumb, use your knuckles to measure the length of trimmed hair.
- Be careful when using scissors.
- Cut the hair little by little. Don't be in a hurry. You can go back to trimming your hair if it's not short enough, but if it's too short, you can't reconnect it!
- If you are not satisfied with the results, go to a professional hairdresser.
