Want to get closer to God and know Him more deeply? If so, try reading this article to find out the various steps you must take to find true spiritual truth.

Step

Find God Step 1
Find God Step 1

Step 1. Find a form of worship or worship that suits you

While you don't have to go to a church or other place of worship to find God, you can at least browse articles online or consult with people of similar beliefs to find out about their worship rituals.

Step 2. If you wish, participate in the nearest place of worship or religious group

Doing so will also help your search process.

Step 3. Look for religious books in libraries and bookstores

Chances are, you can easily find books and/or videos that help confirm your faith and beliefs on religious bookshelves. Some types of books that can help your search process are the Christian scriptures, the Tao te Ching (the main text of Taoist teachings), the Bhagavad Gita (the Hindu religious texts arranged in dialogue form), The Art of Peace (the spiritual teachings of Morihei Ueshiba), The Qur'an, Buddhist religious texts such as the Pali Canon and Dhammapada, or the Talmud.

Step 4. Don't stop your brain from working

True belief is not an occult and can also be rationally reasoned! As a seeker of God, you are required to find reasons for your beliefs, spiritual truths, and find evidence for the existence of your God. Therefore, open your mind as wide as possible while still protecting yourself from being easily deceived.

Step 5. Begin your search with an open mind

Read documents that support your belief in God. Accept God's figure as "salvation that comes as a gift of faith, not deeds, let alone boasting". Realize that you will be saved because of the good you have done so far. Be wary of people or organizations who insult God and your beliefs, or who pretend to know your God for no good reason. Rest assured that most churches, synagogues, or other places of worship also teach the truth.

Step 6. Ask someone who has very strong beliefs for help

Ask for his help to guide you along the search process. Understand that the person does not have to be a religious leader. Just ask someone close to you who you respect and trust to explain the concept of his faith, and why he has that concept.

Step 7. Write down questions you can ask him

  • Can you know God?
  • What is the nature and character of God?
  • How can something or someone that is infinite in nature manifest itself to living beings?
  • How does God judge humans?
  • If man wants to repent, what must he do?

Step 8. Talk to God

Most religions have a way of praying as a basis for representation of their beliefs. Tell God what made you choose to seek Him. Ask Him for help to help you do it with all the honesty, sincerity, and knowledge you have.

Step 9. Get rid of all the hatred, envy, and doubts you have about the concept of God

Again, understand that in order to find God, you must not ignore the limited concept of who and what your God is. Using your finite mind to grasp the concept of the infinite is like forcing one small fish to rule over an entire ocean. Remember, you're trying to find something really big; something far beyond the finite human senses. Therefore, prepare yourself and be honest with yourself before undertaking the quest. Don't narrow your mindset! In fact, your God may not be able to be referred to a certain gender, you know!

Step 10. Get ready to expand your mindset

In other words, don't define your status by just one denomination or religious group. Remember, there is a fundamental difference between the concepts of religion and God. The truth is, you don't have to join a certain religious group to discover the existence of God.

Step 11. Try reading the scriptures containing the word of God which was rewritten by prophets, apostles, and followers of God that you believe in

For example, try reading the Koran, Dhammapada, etc.

Repent Step 1

Step 12. Repent

Change your mindset. Don't let your motivation to find God slowly fade away! Also, don't expect other people to lead you to find God. Instead, try to express God's blessings and goodness with all your heart to help, forgive, and pray for others.

Without receiving God's blessings and light, you will not be able to find the right path

Step 13. Know that God loves His people who live in peace

Therefore, live side by side as best you can with others around you, and share God's blessings with them. Remember, blessings are the most potent medicine for peace.

Tips

  • The process of seeking God will likely be easier than you think because the truth is, God is also looking for you.
  • Having faith the size of a mustard seed can help you find God.
  • If you live near a place of worship that has frequent religious gatherings, try attending. However, be aware that even worship songs and activities can send 'messages' to influence you. Therefore, participating in such activities may or may not help you.
  • Some places of worship often hold religious 'meetings' or 'seminars' in a neutral and casual setting, such as in a coffee shop or bookstore. In such meetings or seminars, it is likely that your belief in the concept of divinity will be questioned. While following them will help your search process, be careful because often times, the parties holding the meeting will “drive” you in the direction they want you to go without you even knowing it.
  • Speak to God in your heart or out loud, and receive blessings and real peace from Him.
  • God does not live on logs, bricks, or in buildings. Instead, God lives within you because you cultivate a love for Him. God is there for you, and you will be there for God. In other words, humans who believe in and want to worship God are the true church built from the flesh and blood of His creation.
  • Divine energy will come into your life, with or without you knowing it. Seek God within yourself and open the doors of your heart so that a higher One can enter your life. Try hard! Undoubtedly, the real truth will be revealed.
  • Divine energy will come into your life, with or without you knowing it. Strive for a vertical connection to the One you understand and believe in to open your path to God.

Warning

  • Have you found God? Safe! However, understand that not everyone will feel comfortable if you force the invention into their minds. At the very least, hope that they will see a positive difference in your life and start asking for the recipe. Also, understand that your discoveries don't necessarily give you the right to preach to others. Instead, use the discovery to highlight the novelty of your life in front of others. Be a blessing to others, be willing to forgive those who wronged you, and don't judge others for thinking of yourself as the most holy of individuals.
  • Remember, no matter how big your beliefs are, there will always be room for greater beliefs. Do your best to define what you believe in and keep your commitments! Receive God's blessings so you can share those blessings with others.
  • When reading 'religious' texts, try to translate the text according to the meaning understood when the text was written. In other words, try to figure out the origin of a concept if it is adjusted to the period in which the text was written to understand its original meaning. Remember, language continues to evolve over time and culture develops. Therefore, also understand who the target audience of the text is, and be careful of people modifying or extending the original translation. If necessary, you can even analyze different variations of the translation to draw a common thread and find the main idea. Remember, religious texts exist to describe and declare the existence of God, not to replace God.
  • In fact, there is a very basic difference between religion and belief. Humans can have beliefs without having to be religious. In other words, you can find your way to God without having a religion. However, having a religion will certainly make it easier for you to pray with people of similar beliefs, celebrate major holidays that are important to your faith, and involve yourself in the community.
