Balloons are a great accessory to celebrate something! Tin foil balloons are made of several layers of metal mixed with nylon. As a result, this type of balloon is very dense so it doesn't collapse easily and is much more durable than ordinary latex balloons. You can inflate the balloon using a straw, blow it manually, or use a hand pump. Just insert the straw or the tip of the air sprayer into the balloon and inflate it.

Method 1 of 3: Manually Blowing Balloons
Step 1. Locate the vent on the outside of the balloon
All tinfoil balloons have a 2.5-5 cm vent that is designed to be easy to inflate. Usually, this object is on the outside of the balloon, near the bottom. The vent is usually covered with 2-3 layers of plastic.
For example, a vent can be found near where you normally blow a regular balloon
Step 2. Insert the straw into the vent to help you blow it
You can use any drinking straw for this purpose. When you find the vent, separate the 2 layers of plastic, then slide the straw inside. After that, insert the straw until it penetrates the safety which is approximately 2.5-5 cm in it. You will feel the straw through the safety when you insert it.

Step 3. Pinch the straw and vent to prevent air from escaping when blowing
To hold the straw in place, pinch both sides with your fingers. Continue to hold the vent while injecting air into the balloon.
Step 4. Blow on the end of the straw to fill air into the balloon
Take a deep breath, then blow on the straw slowly and gradually. Then, take another deep breath and repeat the process until the balloon is full of air. The number of puffs to fill the balloon depends on the size and shape of the balloon.
- If the balloon feels solid to the touch, there is enough air in it.
- Be careful not to blow too much air into the balloon. If you keep blowing it, the balloon may pop.
Step 5. Unplug the straw and pinch the vent guard to close it
When the balloon is full of air, pinch the vent with two fingers, then gently pull out the straw. This method will automatically secure your balloon because the vent can close on its own. When you're done, you can tie the balloons to string or glue them to a wall or post as desired.
If you fill the balloon with a straw, it will last for at least 1 month or more
Method 2 of 3: Using an Air Pump
Step 1. Use a small mouth air pump for best results
If you want to fill balloons easily, look for a small-mouth hand pump. The smaller the pump mouth, the easier it is to insert it into the balloon vent.
Ideally, the mouth of the pump should be flat and measuring 2.5-5 cm
Step 2. Insert the pump nozzle into the gap between the plastic guard and the vent
The vent is the small part of the balloon that allows air to enter. Usually there are 2 layers of plastic inside the object. Tuck the pump nozzle into the plastic lining so that air can be drawn in.
Step 3. Hold the plastic guard tightly to prevent air from escaping
Use one hand to pinch the balloon's vent to prevent air from escaping. This way, you can fill the balloon and keep the air from escaping.
You can use your non-dominant hand for this purpose
Step 4. Pump air into the balloon until it is full
Use your dominant hand to press down on the pump or pump it up and down repeatedly until the balloon is full of air. Keep pumping until the air fills up to 98% of your balloon's maximum capacity.
- At this point, the balloon should feel solid, but still bouncy.
- Do not overfill the air in the balloon when using the hand pump. Be careful when you do this.
Step 5. Remove the pump nozzle and pinch the balloon until it closes tightly
Once most of the space inside the balloon is filled, close the air inlet with your hand, then gently pull the nozzle off the balloon. When finished, the balloon will automatically close the vent.

Method 3 of 3: Filling Balloons with Helium
Step 1. Insert the end of the helium tank into the vent on the balloon
Position the hole in the balloon to the end of the helium tank sprayer until it is about 2.5-5 cm. These holes are known as "wind holes".
While filling the balloon, hold on to the vent tightly
Step 2. Gently press the nozzle on the tank to fill the balloon
To inject air into the balloon, simply press the tip of the sprayer slightly while holding the vent. The balloon will begin to fill with air. Keep pressing the sprayer until the balloon is completely full.
Hold the balloon tightly because the air inside can escape quickly
Step 3. Remove the sprayer from the balloon once it is full of air
The balloon is full of air if the center is solid, but the edges are slightly curled. At this point, simply unplug the nozzle from the vent. When you do this, the vent will close on its own thanks to the adhesive in the balloon.
Step 4. Enjoy your balloon for 3-7 days
Helium is very easy to fill in a balloon, but it doesn't last as long as normal air.
