Blowing balloons with chewing gum is a habit that is often done by children and adults. This habit makes the process of chewing gum very enjoyable. Blowing gum balloons is not difficult, the key lies in proper breathing technique and how to handle the gum in your mouth. Anyone can do it, all it takes is a little practice.
Step
Part 1 of 2: Chewing Gum
Step 1. Buy some gum
Chewing gum is available in almost every corner of the store. You can make bubble gum balloons while chewing them, but you can't make very large bubble gum balloons because they will usually pop too easily. To start, choose a pack of branded gum like Double Bubble or Bazooka. A good selection of chewing gum products usually has a balloon image on the packaging.
- Some chewing gum products have a more sticky texture, making it difficult for you to remove them from your face when the balloon pops. Generally, if you chew the gum longer before blowing up the balloon, the gum will be less sticky.
- Chewing gum that contains less sugar will often have a stronger base for making balloons. This base material has long molecules that add elasticity to the gum. The right amount will give the balloon the best texture.
- Do not use gum that has been chewed for a long time. If you've been chewing gum for too long, it will become drier, harder to chew, and less likely to be blown into a balloon. Use fresh gum for best results.
Step 2. Chew a piece or piece of gum for starters
Chewing large amounts of gum at once may not necessarily make the balloon bigger. At this point, you're just learning how to blow a bubble gum balloon. Therefore, you should not put excessive amounts of chewing gum in your mouth. Take a piece of gum out of the wrapper and put it in your mouth.
Step 3. Chew the gum until it is soft and smooth
Chew all over your mouth. Chew until most of the flavor and sugar crystals contained in it are gone and the texture of the gum becomes very pliable (soft and malleable). This can take a few minutes, so be patient.
Don't wait too long. After chewing it for a long time, about half an hour, the texture of the gum will deteriorate, become stiff and brittle, and also cannot be molded
Part 2 of 2: Making Bubble Gum Balloons
Step 1. Form the gum into a ball with your tongue
Use the roof of your mouth to hold the gum from moving as you form it into a ball. You don't need to make it perfectly round, just collect the gum into a solid lump.
Position the gum ball so that it is directly behind your front teeth. Use your tongue to flatten the ball into a small, flat circle. Use the back of your teeth to help flatten them out by pushing/crushing the gum ball with your front teeth
Step 2. Stick out your tongue to push the flattened gum
Open your mouth slightly and stick your tongue out until it is covered by a thin layer of stretch gum. Do it very gently. Otherwise, you can tear off the thin film with your tongue. When that happens, shape the gum into a ball again and start over. Keep practicing because this step may be difficult for some people.
Practice in front of a mirror so you can make sure the tip of the gum is in the right position
Step 3. Blow air into the layer of gum that covers your tongue
Blow slowly until you can feel the air begin to fill the inside of the gum layer and begin to push the gum out of your mouth in a balloon.
Many people make the mistake of blowing air with their lips instead of blowing air from the inside of their mouth. Blowing the air with your lips is not strong enough to make a good balloon. Therefore, make sure you apply more energy when blowing it. The proper way to blow air into the gummies is like exhaling loudly. Use your diaphragm to push air in and exhale
Step 4. Pull your tongue out of the gum layer
Once the air pressure begins to expand the gum, you can pull your tongue out. The tips of the teeth will help prevent the gum from coming out with the exhale. Continue to blow slowly and steadily until the gum expands gradually.
Keep your mouth open. Resist the urge to close your lips after pulling your tongue. Keeping your mouth open will give you more area to blow air into the balloon
Step 5. Keep blowing as long as possible, or until the balloon pops
Blow the air slowly and regularly. This will give the balloon time to continue to inflate. See how big you can blow it before it pops.
To make the biggest balloon, make a balloon inside. Avoid wind and hot or cold temperatures. Wind and cold air can make the balloon pop faster, while hot air can make it too flexible and difficult to shape
Step 6. Close the balloon
Pinch your lips slightly to close the balloon. This will prevent you from blowing more air into the balloon making it bigger than desired, or to prevent air from escaping inside the balloon.
To prevent the balloon from popping and staining your face, you can pull the balloon back into your mouth and pop it with your tongue
Step 7. Practice, practice, practice
You may not succeed the first few tries, but that's part of the fun. Keep trying until it works and you can tell how it feels. Blowing a bubble gum can familiarize your jaw, mouth and diaphragm. With practice, you will strengthen these muscles and this process will become easier.
Tips
Wet your lips slightly before making the balloon and so that the gum doesn't stick to your lips as the balloon expands
Warning
Do not swallow gum. Most chewing gum contains plastic, wax and gum. So throw the gum away when you're done
