Step 1. Develop a vision

- Think carefully about the level of subtlety. Smooth, glossy paint is easy to clean, but will make wall stains stand out. Plain paint will help cover wall stains, but can be difficult to clean. Step 4. Create a financial budget
Painting costs will vary greatly, depending on price and quality. If you choose a medium to superior quality paint, prepare a budget of 4 million for paint alone for a house of 185 square meters. Add 1 to 2 million for brushes, rollers, buckets, tape, and other materials. Don't forget to provide food, if you plan to feed the workers. In terms of materials, not all paints are equal. Some completely cover the surface with a single layer, some don't. The cost will double if you have to apply two coats to everything. So buying cheaper paint may actually cost more in the long run. Trust a professional paint dealer (to some degree) to tell you which paint to buy. In general, you can buy base coats at a low price and coating paints at a high price.
Step 5. Plan a schedule
Know how long it will take to complete this project. Plan time for moving furniture, prepping walls, cutting, painting itself, eating and resting. Don't forget to include time for cleaning and returning the furniture to its original place. When planning, do it carefully. Unexpected events will slow down your work. So, set aside time for things like this. Remember, this is a day-long project. Don't plan too much in one day. If you walk faster than planned, that's great!
Step 6. Plan the workforce
If you intend not to hire professional workers, you need many help. Lots of work to do. First, there's the moving of furniture, then the preparation of the walls, the covering of the floors, the gathering and preparation of materials, the cleaning, and don't forget, everyone has to eat. It took a team of five people ten whole days to paint the two-story house (about 185 square meters). Get as many people as possible to help you. If anyone can come just a day or two, that's great. Maybe someone else can replace him. Make sure you plan with your work team members in mind. They will need a lot of time to arrange a day off from work. Know some key personnel:
- Cutter. Someone who is conscientious and has strong hands should be given the task of "cutting" or painting straight edges (such as along a wall with an unpainted ceiling). There are many products that can help, but none work as well as an expert doing it by hand. Make sure this person is skilled (ask him to show you). A lousy, uneven, bumpy, or blotchy cut job will immediately stand out every time you go through it. Why should you use more than one cutter? This job is very stressful and makes hands and arms sore after a few days. You'd better give this person a break after painting some walls.
- List paint. Get a few people to paint the enamel trim on the baseboards, windows, and door frames. This work also requires full attention.
- Coordinator. This person will attend to the needs of all workers, fetch drinks, make snacks, run to the store for urgent needs, cook (or arrange) lunch and dinner, make phone calls, get instructions, clean brushes, etc. So, don't underestimate its existence. If not hired professionally, he can help with some painting with rollers.
- Roller paint. You really only need a few people because they can cover a large area in a fairly fast time.
- The putty. Caulking and filling holes is an important job to do before you start painting (along with plenty of time for drying and sanding).
Step 7. Get rid of the furniture
That's right, clear the room. Moving everything just like that to the middle of the room is still not good. Rent a storage space and take a day to fill it up. Leave a table and objects that you can use to place the paint can, everything else should be removed.
Step 8. Prepare the house
Perform wall cleaning, wallpaper removal, patching holes, caulking cracks, cleaning stains, drying and sanding before painting. Now is also the time to use masking tape for painting trim, laying down washcloths, etc. You can also buy paint at this time. Don't wait until the last minute. It can take several hours to mix the many paint cans of all the colors you use. Keep in mind that traffic at the paint and building materials stores in your area triples on weekends. Buy on weekdays if possible.
Step 9. Open the window
Ventilation will help dry faster and keep the air fresh for workers. If dust or other airborne particles are too concentrated, use a different ventilation system.
Step 10. Use a base paint
Dark colors, stains (after covering), and previously unpainted surfaces (drywall, putty, etc.) will require a coat of primer, usually white. NOTE: most paint & building materials stores will now provide a (free) primer to match the final coat color, so two coats of primer do not need to be applied. Not all surfaces require a coat of primer, but if you skip this step, the risk is yours! Dark colors will likely show through the first coat of paint-or even the first few coats of paint. Covering materials and unpainted surfaces such as putty will absorb or remove moisture in the topcoat at a different rate than the surrounding area. Applying a good coat of primer will help overcome this discrepancy. The base paint evens the walls so that they have a uniform surface. It's like erasing the canvas before drawing a new image. While some may doubt its usefulness, you usually don't have to spend a lot of money on a primer or buy a special primer. A 25 liter bucket of cheap white paint will usually come in handy and cover a large area. Dry your basecoat for at least 24 hours (follow the directions) before applying the top coat.
Primer is a must if you're painting over a darker color, or on fresh drywall, but it's a good idea to include this step before doing any painting. A primer is necessary as it blocks the appearance of any stains. This step is also important because it prevents scuffing and peeling of the paint by increasing the adhesion of the paint. Lastly, primers are useful for allowing a single coat to completely cover the walls. If you want a better look, you can color the base paint in the color of the final wall you want. Most paints these days come with a built-in primer, but an old primer is still a better choice. Before you start painting, don't forget to use paint tape to cover the door frames, window frames, and any switches on the walls
Step 11. Start painting

- Using a 5-inch angled brush, start by painting the corners of the walls and around the trim. You should paint to a margin of at least 5 or 7.5 cm from corners, doors, and moldings. Since a paint roller won't be able to paint all the way to the edges, an angled brush ensures an even distribution of paint over the wall.

Step 12. Clean
Make sure you clean all materials and dispose of them safely.
Step 13. Work the floor after the walls
If you plan to change the floor, do so after working on the walls. You will make a mess when you paint the whole house. Don't let your new carpet get painted.

Tips
- Tape DOES NOT replace correct "cuts". Excess paint that builds up along the tape, especially on horizontal surfaces will cause paint splatter and a very undesirable finish. Masking tape can be used to reduce errors but don't count on it to produce a good line every time.
- A plastic bag with a zipper can prevent the brush or roller from drying out while you're taking a break for lunch. Place the rollers and brushes in a zippered bag in the refrigerator. This will keep it wet indefinitely as long as you leave it in there.
- Have plenty of rags and clean water ready to clean up small and big mistakes.
- Don't overwork in the first few days. Plan appropriately and maintain a steady pace so you don't get tired quickly. Painting a room is like a race, painting a house is like a marathon.
- When painting a carpeted room, keep in mind that the paint will seep through the dripping cloth. This is especially true for fabrics that are cheap and lightweight. It's helpful to apply tape to all the baseboards before placing the drip cloth. Tuck the edges of the cloth under the paper-this will help keep it clean.
