- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder without sugar
Step
Method 1 of 3: Soft Brownies
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 177 degrees Celsius
Step 2. Melt the butter and chocolate without sugar
Place the butter and chocolate in a microwave-safe container. Place in the microwave and cook for 30 seconds until liquid. Use a spoon to stir the mixture until smooth.
Step 3. Mix dry ingredients
Place flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Mix well.
Step 4. Add the wet ingredients
Pour in the chocolate and butter mixture, milk, eggs and vanilla. Use a spoon to stir the mixture until the mixture is smooth and no lumps.
Step 5. Pour the batter into the pan
Grease a baking sheet with butter or line it with parchment paper to prevent the brownies from sticking. Pour the batter into the pan and use a spoon to smooth the surface.
Step 6. Bake the brownies
Place the pan in the oven and bake the brownies for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick or fork is clean after inserting into the brownies. Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before cutting.
Method 2 of 3: Chewy Brownies
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 177 degrees Celsius
Step 2. Melt the butter, cocoa and sugar
Place all three ingredients on the top of a double boiler over medium heat. When it starts to heat up, stir the dough. Keep stirring until the butter is melted and the sugar and cocoa are dissolved in the butter. Remove the dough and let it cool for a few minutes before adding the next ingredient.
- If you don't have a double-boiler make your own: place a small saucepan into a larger pot filled with 2.5-5cm of water. Place the ingredients in a smaller saucepan. Cook on medium heat and stir.
- To test if the dough is ready for the next step, dip your finger in the chocolate. If it's not too hot, continue cooking. When very hot, the dough is ready.
Step 3. Add eggs and vanilla
Use a wooden spoon to whisk the eggs and vanilla into the mixture. The dough will look smooth, shiny and like pudding. Keep beating until the eggs are evenly coated with the chocolate mixture.
Step 4. Stir in flour
Use a wooden spoon to slowly add the flour while stirring until the mixture is smooth and no more white flour is visible. Beat the dough for a minute or two until smooth.
Step 5. Pour the batter into the pan
A 20 x 20 cm baking sheet is the perfect size for these rich chocolate brownies. Grease the pan with butter or line it with parchment paper to prevent the brownies from sticking, then pour the batter into the pan, and use the back of a spoon to smooth the surface.
- If you want a topping, sprinkle it on the surface. You can use coconut, chopped coconut, or other toppings of your choice.
- For thicker brownies, use a smaller pan.
Step 6. Bake the brownies
Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake the brownies for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick or fork cleans when inserted into the brownies. Remove the brownies from the oven and allow them to cool before cutting.
Method 3 of 3: Microwave Cooked Brownies
Step 1. Mix the ingredients
Place all ingredients in a bowl. Use a spoon or a whisk to stir until the mixture is smooth and lump-free.
Step 2. Pour the batter into a microwave-safe dish
Use a microwave-safe glass or ceramic dish. Brush with butter to prevent the brownies from sticking to the dish and use the back of a spoon to smooth the surface.
Step 3. Cook the brownies
Place the dish in the microwave and cook on high for four minutes. Check out the brownies; if the surface looks damp, cook another minute. Keep checking and cooking until the surface is no longer wet.
- Insert a toothpick into the brownies; When the toothpick comes out clean, the brownies are ready to eat.
- Remove the brownies from the microwave and let them cool for a few minutes before cutting.
