Ingredients
Donut dough
- 2 packets standard or fast-rising yeast
- 1/4 cup warm water (105−115 degrees)
- 1 1/2 cups warm milk (boil then cool)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup margarine
- 5 cups all-purpose flour
- Vegetable oil
Glaze Lapisan
- 1/3 cup butter
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 2-4 tbsp hot water
Step
Method 1 of 3: Donuts
Step 1. Mix warm water with yeast in a mixing bowl
Let the yeast dissolve in the water.
Step 2. Add salt, margarine, milk, sugar, eggs and 2 cups flour
Combine these ingredients, stirring gently, as you will need to mix and break up the lumps. Do it for 30 seconds.
Step 3. Beat or stir the mixture for another 2 minutes on medium speed
Continue leveling and outlining. Add the remaining flour and mix the dough until it is perfect.
Step 4. Cover the dough and let it rise for 50 to 60 minutes
Put it in a warm place. The dough will be ready when the surface follows the direction you touch it; which means, if you press down on the dough with your finger, the dough will remain in the downward pressure position and not bounce back up.
Step 5. Spread the flour on a mat, such as on a table or cutting board
Spoon the dough onto a floured surface and gently roll the dough so that it is coated. Carefully roll out the dough so that it is about 1.3 cm thick with a rolling pin (it's better if you coat it with flour first so the dough won't stick to the roller). Use a donut cutter for each fruit, making a hole in the center.
Step 6. Cover these donut pieces again and let them rise for 30 to 40 minutes
Step 7. Use a deep fryer at 180 C and pour in the vegetable oil
Use a spatula that is wide on the sides and slide the donuts into the oil. Fry each side for about 1 minute until the donuts are golden brown.
Step 8. Carefully remove the donuts from the oil and dry the pieces of these donuts
Do not let the surface of the donut crumble.
Step 9. Apply a layer of glaze and put donuts in it
Let the donuts cool and then use the chocolate glaze as jam.
Method 2 of 3: Cream Glaze
Step 1. Use a small frying pan to heat the butter
Wait until the butter melts and turn off the heat.
Step 2. Add the vanilla and powdered sugar mixture until the mixture is smooth
Step 3. Pour in the water (one tablespoon at a time) and mix until the consistency is to your liking
Method 3 of 3: Chocolate Glaze
Step 1. Use a small frying pan to melt the chocolate and butter on low heat
Step 2. Turn off the heat, add the powdered sugar and vanilla, stir until the mixture is smooth
Step 3. Pour in the water (one tablespoon at a time) and mix until the consistency is to your liking
Step 4. Done
