- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1⁄2 cups sugar
- 1⁄4 cups white vinegar

- 3/4 cup tomato juice
- 2 tablespoons of the best quality virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic
- 1 1/2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme or 1/2 teaspoon drained thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground fresh pepper
Creamy French Salad Seasoning
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup vegetable oil

Method 1 of 2: Making a Basic French Salad Seasoning
Step 1. Put the ingredients in a large blender
Place all ingredients except the oil in a large blender.
Do not use a small blender. If you do, the ingredients may scatter all over the table
Step 2. Grind the ingredients
Make sure all ingredients are well mixed. Continue until the onions are completely smooth.
Step 3. Add the oil
While blending the ingredients, slowly add the oil to the blender.
Step 4. Cool
Once done, chill the salad dressing in the refrigerator for a few hours before using it. You can store this salad dressing in an airtight container for up to 7 days.
Method 2 of 2: Making Creamy French Salad Seasoning
Step 1. Put the ingredients into the food processing machine
Place all ingredients in a food processor. Don't add oil yet. Set aside first.
The addition of mayonnaise will make the salad dressing creamy
Step 2. Grind the ingredients
Use a food processor to mix the ingredients until smooth. Continue until the onions are completely mush.
Step 3. Add oil
Slowly add the oil to the salad dressing while continuing to grind it.
Step 4. Cool
Salad seasoning tastes better when served chilled, but it's also OK to serve it immediately after it's mashed. Store in an airtight container for up to one week.
Step 5. Try other variations
Some other spices and flavors you can add to your salad dressing are 2 teaspoons lemon juice and 1 teaspoon paprika powder. You can also add 1 teaspoon of English soy sauce.
