- 2 tsp. (2 grams) ginger powder
- tsp. (1 gram) allspice (Jamaican pepper)
- tsp. (1 gram) clove powder
- tsp. (1 gram) mace or cardamom powder
- tsp. (1 gram) nutmeg powder
Makes 2 tbsp. (14 grams) seasoning
Step
Method 1 of 2: Mixing and Storing Seasonings
Step 1. Measure out all the spices and put them in a bowl
Add 1 tbsp. (10 grams) cinnamon powder, 2 tbsp. (2 grams) ginger powder, tsp. (1 gram) allspice, tsp. (1 gram) clove powder, tsp. (1 gram) mace or cardamom powder, and tsp. (1 gram) nutmeg powder into a plate or bowl.
- It doesn't matter if you use ready-made spice powder. However, the fresh ground spices themselves have a sharper taste.
- You can increase the number easily. Double or triple the required amount of ingredients, and mix in a larger bowl.
Step 2. Whisk all ingredients until well blended
Break up any lumps and continue to beat the ingredients until the spice mixture turns evenly brown.
If you don't have a whisk, you can use a fork or spoon
Step 3. Store this pumpkin pie spice in an airtight container at room temperature
Use small jars or used spice containers that can be tightly closed. Do not place the spices in direct sunlight so the aroma can last longer.
- Try using a funnel to put the spices into a storage container or jar.
- Try to use this pumpkin pie spice for up to 1 year.
