Keep your homemade taco seasoning mix in your cupboard for a quick and inexpensive meal. Just say "ole" and your dinner is on the table. Serve the tacos with your favorite condiments like sliced lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped tomatoes, and your favorite salsa sauce.

- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon cumin powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons hot smoked paprika
- 1 tsp coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch (optional)
- 2 teaspoons coarse salt
Mixed Taco Seasoning Variation #2
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cumin powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper

Method 1 of 2: Making the Seasoning
Step 1. Thoroughly mix all the ingredients from one of the variations in a small bowl
Or, shake in a small bottle to combine. Each variation has a different taste. Experiment with what tastes best to you. Each recipe contains chili powder, cumin, and paprika, but variation #1 has coriander and chilies, while variation #2 has onion and garlic powder, in addition to red chili flakes and oregano.
Step 2. Store the taco seasoning in an airtight container for up to a few months
Use earlier than later for best results.
Method 2 of 2: Using Seasoning on Tacos
Step 1. Be prepared to use about 2 tablespoons of seasoning for every 453.6 g of meat
Add more or less seasoning depending on your taste.
Step 2. Cook the meat in a large skillet thoroughly
Remove any excess fat from the pan.
Step 3. Add the taco seasoning and mix thoroughly into the meat
Step 4. Add 1/2 cup of water per 453.6g of meat and simmer gently until the water has completely evaporated
This should take 2 to 5 minutes.
