This wikiHow teaches you how to keep YouTube videos playing while you use other apps on your iPhone or iPad. While this feature is not available in the YouTube app, you can get the same result via Google Chrome.
Step
Step 1. Open Google Chrome on your iPhone or iPad
This browser is marked by a red, yellow, blue, and green circle icon labeled “Chrome” and is usually located on the device's home screen.

If you don't have Chrome yet, you can download it at this point from App Store
Step 2. Touch
It's in the upper-right corner of the Chrome window.
Step 3. Touch New Incognito Tab
This option is the first option on the menu.
Step 4. Visit
To access it, type youtube.com into the address bar at the top of the Chrome window and press the Go button.
Step 5. Find the desired video
Type the title of the video or artist into the search bar at the top of the YouTube page, then tap the magnifying glass icon. A list of matching videos will be displayed.
Step 6. Touch the video
After that, the video will start playing immediately.
Step 7. Touch
It's in the upper-right corner of the Chrome window.
Step 8. Touch Request Desktop Site
This option is at the bottom of the menu. The page will reload and appear as if you were accessing it via a computer.
Step 9. Touch the play button
It's a right-facing triangle icon in the lower-left corner of the video window. After that, the video will start playing immediately.
Step 10. Open the iPhone or iPad home screen
If you are using a newer device, swipe up from the bottom of the screen. Otherwise, press the “Home” button at the bottom of the screen.
Step 11. Swipe the bottom of the home screen upwards
The control center window (“Control Center”) will open.
Step 12. Touch the play button on the Music app shortcut
This button is indicated by a triangle icon pointing to the right. The video will play again. Now, you can return to the home screen or use other applications without interrupting the video playback.
