Method 1 of 3: Finding iPad Size Using Model
Step 1. Find the model number on the back of the iPad
A quick way to find out your iPad model is by looking at the model number. The model number starts with a letter and is followed by 4 digits.
Step 2. Find the order number in Settings
If you can no longer see the model number on the back of the iPad, you can try to find another model number, also known as the order number. Open the Settings menu on the iPad by visiting “General”, then “About”. Next to the word “Model,” you'll see a combination of numbers and letters starting with the letter M. Search for the model number on Google to determine the iPad model.

Method 2 of 3: Manually Measuring iPad
Step 1. Lay iPad down on a flat surface with a vertical orientation

To get the iPad's full dimensions, you'll also need to know its thickness. Bring iPad to the edge of a flat surface so that the zero end aligns with the point where iPad meets the flat surface. Measure from this point to the top of the device.
Step 5. Measure from the bottom left corner of the screen to the top right corner of the screen
Make sure you measure from the corner of the screen instead of the outside corner of the iPad. The ruler should be placed diagonally on the screen. The iPad screen size on Apple's website is in inches, so it's a good idea to measure in these units.
Do not measure the non-display bezel or bezel around the display. This is how all screens are measured, whether on a smartphone, computer or television
