This wikiHow teaches you how to get a temporary Xbox LIVE subscription for free. You can earn them by accumulating 7,000 points through Microsoft Rewards, registering a new gamertag with a free trial period, or entering the code from a two/three day subscription card that you can find on some new or pre-ordered games.

Method 1 of 4: Using Microsoft Rewards
Step 1. Open the Bing website

Step 2. Sign in to your Microsoft Xbox LIVE account
Click the button Sign in ” in the top right corner of the page, click “ Connect ” to the right of the Microsoft logo, and enter your Microsoft account email address and password.
- If you don't have an Xbox LIVE account yet, create one first.
- You must have a Microsoft account to enroll in Microsoft Rewards.
Step 3. Click the "Rewards" icon
It's a red medal icon in the top-right corner of the page. Once clicked, a drop-down menu will appear.

It's a blue button in the lower-left corner of the drop-down menu. After that, you will be taken to the “Microsoft Rewards” page.

Step 6. Enter your email address and password if prompted

Step 7. Use Bing to perform a search
Instead of Google Yahoo, use Bing when you want to search for something. You will receive five points for each quest performed.
- There is a limit to the number of searches that can be performed. However, these limits differ depending on the challenges available. Keep an eye on the points as you go on quests to make sure you keep getting points.
- You can search multiple browsers to earn points after crossing the limit on one browser.
- You can change your browser's main search engine to Bing if you want so that you can automatically use Bing when you search the internet.
Step 8. Redeem the achieved rewards
Click the "Rewards" icon, then click " Claim ” below any notification offering points. After that, the points will be added to the overall accumulated points.

Step 9. Earn 7,000 points
Once you've earned 7,000 points through internet searches, challenges, and rewards, you can use them to purchase a month's worth of Xbox LIVE subscription.
Step 10. Visit the Xbox LIVE membership rewards page
On this page, you can get a free Xbox LIVE subscription for one month.
Step 11. Click Redeem
It's below the Xbox LIVE gift card image.
Step 12. Click CONFIRM ORDER when prompted
After that, Microsoft will send an email containing the Xbox LIVE code to your account.

Method 2 of 4: Using Free Trial Masa
Step 1. Go to the Xbox LIVE site
Visit https://www.xbox.com/en-US/live and sign in with an Xbox Silver account. This account must be a Microsoft account.

This tab is in the blue ribbon at the top of the page.
Step 5. Click Try Xbox Live Gold for free
This link is under the "Xbox" section. Once clicked, you will be taken to the membership options page.
If you see the option “ Join Xbox Live Gold ”, you cannot use the free trial period on this account.
Step 6. Make sure the Gold - 1 Month FREE Trial option is checked
This option is the top choice on this page.
Step 7. Click Next

Step 8. Sign in to your account if prompted
You may be asked to re-enter your email address and password to confirm that you want to add the subscription to your account.
You may also be asked to verify your account. If yes, enter the phone number you want to use to receive verification messages, click “ Send code ”, open a text message from Microsoft and write down the code, then enter the code in the field that appears on the page.
Step 9. Add payment information
Usually this information includes the card number, security code, name, expiration date, and postal code. You won't be charged anything until next month when your Xbox LIVE subscription automatically renews for $9.99.
You can cancel your subscription at any time to prevent automatic renewal at the end of the free trial
Step 10. Click Continue

Method 3 of 4: Using a Free Trial Code on Xbox One
Step 1. Find the free trial code
Some games come with a two/three day free trial code card on the packaging. You can enter the code on the card into Xbox One settings to exchange it for a few days of free gaming sessions.
Step 2. Turn on the Xbox One with the controller connected
Press and hold the " Guide " button (the Xbox logo button in the center of the controller). After that, the Xbox and control devices will be turned on.
Step 3. Make sure you are signed in to the right account
Press the " Guide " button, then scroll the screen to the " Guide " menu. If you see a suitable profile, you can move on to the next step.
If the profile shown is different from the profile you want to add a free trial period to, select an account, scroll down and select “ Sign out ”, reopen the “Guide” menu and log in using the desired account.

Press and hold the " Guide " button (the Xbox logo button in the center of the controller). After that, the Xbox and control devices will be turned on.

Press the " Guide " button, then look at the name on the left side of the " Guide " window. If the name refers to the account you want to use, you can move on to the next step.
