This wikiHow teaches you how to check the remaining battery charge in Apple's AirPods. You can do this from your iPhone or by checking the AirPods case or case.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Using iPhone
Step 1. Make sure you have paired AirPods with iPhone
Turn on Bluetooth on iPhone by swiping up from the bottom of the screen and tapping the icon Bluetooth
if it's gray or white, then do the following:
- Hold the AirPods case and hold it close to the iPhone.
- Open the box.
- Tap Connect when requested.
Step 2. Try checking the battery by bringing the case closer to the iPhone
When AirPods have been paired with iPhone, their battery status will be displayed as a percentage at the bottom of the iPhone screen.
- You have to hold the box right next to the phone.
- The charging status will appear on your iPhone within a few seconds of opening the case.
- If the charging status doesn't appear on your iPhone, try closing and reopening the case.
- The battery status for the earphones and the case itself will be displayed.
Step 3. Go to Widgets page on iPhone
Swipe right on the iPhone screen until you're on the far left of the page. The Batteries widget can be installed here.
The Batteries widget can be used to view the remaining battery charge on any device connected via Bluetooth
Step 4. Scroll down and tap Edit
It's a circular button at the bottom of the page. A list of available widgets will be displayed.
Step 5. Look for the Batteries widget
Scroll down until you find the Batteries widget. It's located at the top of the " MORE WIDGETS " section.
Step 6. Tap which is to the left of the options Batteries.
Step 7. Place the Batteries widget on top
Tap and hold the icon located on the right side Batteries, then drag it to the top of the Widgets page.
Step 8. Tap Done which is in the top right corner
Your changes will be saved, and a Batteries widget will be created at the top of the Widgets page.
Step 9. Scroll to the " BATTERIES " section
This section is located at the top of the page.
Step 10. Check the remaining battery charge of the AirPods
If the AirPods have been paired with iPhone, the remaining battery charge will be displayed under the iPhone battery charge indicator in the " BATTERIES " box.
Method 2 of 3: Using the AirPods Case
Step 1. Unbox the AirPods
Open the lid on the top of the box, and make sure you open it fully.
Step 2. Make sure the AirPods are in the box
If there is at least one Airpod in the box, a charge level indicator will be displayed. If not, insert at least one AirPod in the box to continue.
Step 3. Look for the light that is between the two holes used to place the AirPods
The light can be green or yellow. The light will come on a few seconds later if you place the AirPods in the box.
If no AirPods are in the box, the light indicates the charge level for the case itself
Step 4. Look at the charging status of the AirPods
If the light is green, the AirPods are fully charged. If it's yellow, the AirPods need one more strip of charge to fully charge the battery.
Step 5. Use the Bluetooth menu on Mac
If you want to know exactly how much battery life remains in your AirPods and their case, place the case close to the side of your Mac and open the lid. Next, do the following things:
-
Click icon Bluetooth
in the upper-right corner of your Mac's screen.
- If the icon is not there, go to System Preferences, then click Bluetooth, and click
- If Bluetooth is off, click Turn Bluetooth On
- Wait for the AirPods to appear.
- Point the mouse (mouse) at the AirPods in the Bluetooth menu.
- Look at the remaining battery power.
Method 3 of 3: Save Battery Power
Step 1. Keep the AirPods in the box as much as possible
If you're not using them, put your AirPods in the box. The case will continue to charge so your AirPods will always be ready to use.
Step 2. Avoid opening and closing the box too often
The battery charge will decrease if you open and close the case too often. Do not open and close the case unless you want to take the earphones out, put them back in the box, or check the battery status.
- If the box is left open for a long time, the battery will run out.
- You should also clean the case and earphones using a lint-free cloth.
Step 3. Plug AirPods into Mac
You can charge your AirPods quickly if you plug them into your Mac computer. You can also charge quickly with a USB charger for iPad or iPhone.
Step 4. Charge the AirPods at a reasonable room temperature
You should charge the box and AirPods in a room where the temperature is between 0 and 35 degrees Celsius. This condition makes the charging process run smoothly.
Step 5. Fix a fast battery drain by resetting the AirPods
How to reset AirPods: hold down the set up button on the box until the light turns amber. Hold down the button for at least 15 seconds, then reconnect the AirPods to your device.
