If you don't have an apple corer, you'll need to use a sharp chef's knife or paring knife (a small knife 3-4 cm long) to cut the apples. There are several ways to slice an apple, each with a different level of efficiency. However, regardless of the method, you should always peel the core of the apple! Apple seeds contain amydgalin, a chemical that releases cyanide when it hits the human digestive system.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Cutting Around the Apple Core

Step 1. Place the apples perpendicular to the cutting board
The apple should be able to stand without being touched, but you can handle it so that the cut is neat.

Step 2. Cut the apple near the core
Hold a sharp knife with your dominant hand. Place the blade of the knife slightly to the side of the stem so that you don't cut right into the core of the fruit. However, try to cut as close to the core of the apple as possible. Once the knife is firmly on the apple, press it straight down toward the cutting board. Cut all sides of the apple so that only the core remains.
Cut the apple into three or four pieces, as desired. Apples cut into quarters are easier to eat, but you'll get the job done faster if you only cut the apple into three pieces

Step 3. Remove the core of the apple
If possible, compost your fruit core. If you can't, throw it in the trash.
Feel free to eat the rest of the apple that is around the core, but don't eat the apple seeds

Step 4. Slice the apple
Place the flat side of the apple slices on the cutting board. Then, slice or dice your apples using a knife. You can slice apples to eat or bake. Try diced your apples to add to salads or other foods!
Method 2 of 3: Cut Apples Into Four Identical Slices

Step 1. Cut the apple into four similar pieces
First, place the apples perpendicular to the cutting board. Then, cut the fruit right in the center of the core using a knife. Finally, halve your apple slices right at the stem. Now, you have four nearly-sized apple slices.

Step 2. Remove the core of the apple
Use a knife to peel off the seeded part of the apple. Peel the core of the apple slices with small crescent movements so that the apple flesh is not wasted too much. Compost your apple cores or throw them in the trash.
To make it faster, try cutting off the side of the apple that has seeds. Some of the apple flesh will be wasted, but you don't have to work too hard

Step 3. Slice the apple slices into fan-like shapes
Place the apple slices so the skin is facing up. Then, slice or dice your apple pieces to the desired size and shape. Try slicing each apple slice into three “fans” to make a ready-to-eat snack.
You can also eat apple slices as is. Apples can be eaten if the core has been removed
Method 3 of 3: Slice Apples with Grid Splits

Step 1. Make the initial cut
Hold the apple upside down, and slice it vertically a few inches from the core. Make two parallel cuts, one on each side of the core so that the apple is now three pieces.

Step 2. Cut the lattice halves
Make two more vertical slits on the apple and equidistant from the core, but perpendicular to the first two cuts. Cut the apples into neat grids of nine apple slices. The cut in the middle is the core of the apple.

Step 3. Wrap the apple with a rubber band
The rubber band should be strong enough to hold the apple pieces tightly. If the rubber band isn't tight enough, try wrapping it twice. Otherwise, wrap it in plastic or something that will hold the apple pieces together tightly.

Step 4. Bring your apples
Now, you have a pack of apples to take with you on the go. The rubber band will hold the apple tightly so that the flesh is not exposed to air. This way, your apples won't turn brown.

Step 5. Done
Tips
- Use a paring knife or chef's knife. Make sure the knife is sharp enough to cut the apple.
- Peel the apple away from your body so you don't hurt your fingers. If you must cut the apple inward (towards the body), do so slowly.
- Actually, you don't have to worry about apple seeds. To get cyanide poisoning from apple seeds, you must chew or swallow up to 200 apple seeds or 20 apple cores. However, you should just throw away the apple seeds so they don't make you sick.
