Step 1. Bring a pot of water to a boil to boil the corn that will be served to many people

Add water to the pot until it reaches 3/4 of the way and bring to a boil over high heat. Peel a few cobs of corn as desired and put them in the pot. Next, bring the water to a boil again and turn off the heat. Cover the pot and let the corn remain in the hot water for about 5-10 minutes or until tender.

  • You can leave the corn in the pot of hot water until it's ready to serve.
  • If you want creamy corn on the cob, you can add 240 ml of milk, 60 ml of heavy cream and 60 grams of butter to a pot of water before adding the corn.

Step 1. Heat a gas or charcoal grill to high temperature if you want smoked corn

Cut the corn hair at the end of the cob and peel off only 1 layer of the skin. Next, cut off the bottom and place the corn on the preheated grill. Grill the corn for about 5 minutes before you flip it over with tongs. Grill the corn again until it looks attractive and charred. Place the corn on a serving plate and let sit for five minutes before peeling and serving.

You've probably heard that corn should be dipped in brine before placing it on the grill. This doesn't have to be done to get delicious corn. It's best to use aged corn because the skin won't dry out easily

Method 3 of 9: Using the Oven

Corn can be peeled before serving, or just let people peel it themselves

If you want to microwave 2 cobs of corn, increase the cooking time by 1-2 minutes

Step 1. Cook the corn in a skillet to get a crunchy texture

Start by peeling 4 cobs of corn and simmering them for about 5 minutes. Add 1 tbsp. (15 ml) of vegetable oil in a skillet and heat over medium-high heat, then add the corn. Cook for about 2 minutes and turn several times so that the outside is crispy. After that, brush the corn with the spice mixture and cook for another 3 minutes. To quickly make a flavorful spice mix, mix the following ingredients together:

  • 5 tbsp. (80 ml) vegetable oil
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 30 grams of grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp. (15 ml) lime juice
  • 1 tsp. (2 grams) cumin powder

Step 1. Heat an old smoker to 120°C for delicious corn

Two hours before cooking, peel the corn husks and remove the hairs, but do not remove the husks. Return the corn husks to the top to cover the corn kernels, then soak the corn in cold water for about 2 hours. Also soak the wood chips in water (in another container) for 30 minutes. When you are ready to smoke, arrange the corn in 1 layer in the smoker, then add the wood chips. Smoke the corn for about 1 hour or until the texture is tender.

  • If you are using a modern smoker, turn it on to 180°C and place the corn on the grill. Next, set a timer for 20 minutes and get delicious smoked corn!
  • If you're cooking a lot of corn, give it an extra 15 minutes to smoke it.

Step 1. Cook the corn with the husks over coals to get a smoked aroma

When the fire or charcoal has not been lit, carefully peel the 3 cobs of corn so you can remove the hair. Return the corn husks to the top and tie them with string. Soak the corn in the water for at least 15 minutes. After that, push the charcoal to one side of the base or grate and place 3 corncobs on top of the bottom or grill grate. Cover the corn with charcoal and bake for about 10 minutes.

  • To cook a lot of corn, place 3 more cobs on the other side of the grill or heat.
  • Corn is ripe when the kernels turn dark brown.

Step 1. Put the corn in an airtight bag if you want to use a sous vide pan

You can get full, cooked corn by cooking it in a sous vide pan in water heated to 80°C. Peel 4 cobs of corn and place them in an airtight bag. Once the air in the bag has been removed, put the corn in the water and place the pan over it to give it weight. Cook the corn in hot water for about 30 minutes.

  • If you want to cook more corn, place the corn in another airtight bag and cook both bags at the same time.
  • You can also season the corn as it cooks. Add a few pieces of butter and a pinch of salt to the bag before you blow off the air and seal it tightly.

Tips

  • If you like very sweet corn, try choosing a type of corn that has a naturally sweet taste.
  • You can store cooked corn for up to 5 days by placing it in an airtight container and placing it in the refrigerator.
  • Serve the corn with plenty of margarine or butter. You can season it with salt, pepper, or a spice mix, such as cajun seasoning.
