  • 5 pieces of bratwurst sausage
  • 350 ml of beer of your choice (lager, stout, IPA, amber, etc.)
  • 5 cups of sweet bread or rolls

Step 1. Line a baking sheet with foil, then put it in the oven

Spread a sheet of foil on the baking sheet, then fold it to the sides of the pan to prevent the paper from shifting. This will make the cleaning process easier and prevent the sausage from sticking to the pan. Once the pan is lined, place it in the oven so it can start heating.

Step 6. Pour 350 ml of beer into the pan

You can use any type of beer, from the cheapest and sold at a local store to microbrew beers sold by local producers. Pour in your beer of choice until it fills half of the pan.

  • Each beer will produce a different taste. For example, a lager beer will have a mild taste, an IPA beer will have a slightly bitter taste, while a stout beer will enrich and amplify the taste of a sausage.
  • If you want a slightly stronger taste than lager, but not as strong as stout, choose amber or red beer.
  • Depending on the size of the pan you're using, you may not need to use all of the beer you buy.

Step 7. Cover the baking sheet tightly with aluminum foil

Place a long sheet of foil on the baking sheet and fold the edges around the edges of the pan. This will keep the bratwurst sausage liquid intact, making it tastier and more moist.

If a sheet of foil doesn't cover the entire lip of the pan, use 2 sheets of paper to stack them

Step 8. Place the pan in the oven for an hour and flip the sausage only once

  • Do not pierce the sausage with a fork or the liquid inside will come out.
  • After an hour, check the internal temperature of the thickest part of the sausage with a thermometer. When the temperature reaches 70 °C, the sausage is done! If not, put it back in the oven for 5-10 minutes until the temperature is just right.
