Baseball caps are made to fit and can be adjusted. The adjustable version allows you to adjust the size with the strap at the back. But without a strap on the back you need a day to shrink the baseball cap to fit your head.
Step
Part 1 of 2: Wetting the Hat
Step 1. Fill a bucket or sink with hot water
Make sure the water isn't too hot so you can still dip your hands.
Step 2. Soak the hat in the water
Press the hat into the water until it is completely submerged.
Step 3. Let sit for five minutes
Part 2 of 2: Putting on the Hat
Step 1. Wrap your neck with a towel
Put on a bathrobe to keep your clothes from getting wet.
Step 2. Put on a wet hat
Wait for the water to drip onto the towel and wipe off any water that drips on your face and neck.
Step 3. Put on a baseball cap to dry
This method will take all day, but the result will be a smaller hat size and fit on your head.
Tips
- Some people recommend showering with a hat on and wearing it until it dries.
- To form a curve on the brim of the hat, wrap a round tin with the brim of the hat and tie it with a rubber band while it is wet. You can also wet the brim of the hat after reducing the hat size.
