Do you have hazel eyes? You are lucky. Hazel is a beautiful mix of green, brown, and gold that can look different depending on the light. The eye shadow and eye liner you choose can make your eyes look greener, browner or just lighter. Of course, warm earth tones will bring out the best in your hazel eyes.
Step
Part 1 of 3: Accentuate Your Chocolate Inside Your Eyes
Step 1. Choose eyeshadow in brown or gold shades
Using an earth color will accentuate the brown in your eyes, making them look deeper and darker. Look for eyeshadows that consist of a bunch of browns so you can experiment with shades that bring out the best in your eye color.
- For daytime makeup, use neutral, sandy or milk chocolate colors that will accentuate your eyes without being too flashy.
- For evening makeup, use dark brown or sparkling gold colors that will draw people's attention to your eyes.
Step 2. Apply the eyeshadow in layers
If you want to use only one color, you can skip this step. If you have an eyeshadow palette that contains a lot of colors, apply the eyeshadow in layers to make your eyes look bigger and stand out. Here's how to do it:
- Apply a medium color, such as a light brown, all over your eyelid area. Blend evenly up to the crease of the eye.
- Blend the darkest color, such as a dark brown, into the crease of the eye.
- Dab the second lightest color, such as a light sand color, over the crease color and blend it with the darker color.
- Dab the lightest color in your eyeshadow palette or white cream on the brow bone as a highlight.
- Blend the four colors together neatly and clean up the messy blush.
Step 3. Use a brown tint
Using a dark brown tint will help make your eyes look darker and reduce the green tone of your eyes. Draw a line on the upper and lower eyelids in brown to achieve a soft outline of the eye, using either a shadow pencil or a shadow brush applied to the eyeshadow.
- To brighten your eyes, use a gold shadow to draw a line on the inner corner of the eye.
- For a bolder evening look, go for black shadows instead of brown.
Step 4. Apply the brown mascara
Your eye makeup will not be perfect without the application of mascara to lengthen and define your lashes. Using a dark brown mascara will accentuate the brown and gold that's in your eyes. If you want a bolder look, go for a black shadow.
Step 5. Use bronzer (a type of blush)
Using a bronzer, to emphasize the rest of your face, will give your face a warm, golden glow. Since gold is the perfect color to pair with hazel, of course the sunburned look will suit you.
- Dab a thin layer of bronzer on the nose, eyebrows and cheeks.
- Choose a bronzer that contains shimmer for a more special evening look.
Part 2 of 3: Accentuate Your Green Inside Your Eyes
Step 1. Choose a green eyeshadow
Hazel-colored eyes look great with a soft green eyeshadow, which will highlight the green that's in your eyes. Look for a kelly green or forest green eyeshadow palette and a range of other colors so you can experiment with colors that will bring out the best in your eye color.
- Choose warm greens, rather than cool/calming greens. Choose a golden green color instead of a sea green color, because the gold color is very suitable to be paired with the natural gold color that is in your eyes.
- If you're having trouble finding the right shade of green, you can layer green eyeshadow with brown to create earthy green tones that match your eye color.
Step 2. Apply the eyeshadow in layers
If you want to use only one color, you can skip this step. If you have an eyeshadow palette that contains a variety of colors, apply the eyeshadow in layers to make your eyes look bigger and stand out. Here's how to do it:
- Apply medium colors, such as yellow-brown green, all over your eyelids. Blend evenly up to the crease of the eye.
- Blend the darkest color, such as hunter green (dark yellowish green), into the crease of your eye.
- Dab the second lightest color, such as a pale green, over the crease color and blend it with the darker color.
- Dab the lightest color in your eyeshadow palette on the brow bone as a highlight.
- Blend the four colors neatly and clean up the messy blush.
Step 3. Draw the outline of your eye with black shadow
The brown tint doesn't match the green tint, so choose a basic black tint to draw the outline of your eye. Draw a line on the upper and lower eyelids using a shadow pencil or shadow brush applied to the eyeshadow.
- Avoid cool/calming colors that are blue or gray, as these colors can clash/don't match your eye color. Opt for a warm neutral black shade.
- To make your eyes brighter, use a gold-colored eyeshadow to draw a line on the inner corner of the eye and blend it outward with the black shadow using a brush.
Step 4. Apply black mascara
No eye makeup would be complete without the use of mascara to lengthen and define your eyelashes. Use black mascara to accentuate the green in your eyes. For a more prominent look, curl your lashes before applying mascara.
Step 5. Use a highlighter (makeup, usually in the form of a pencil, solid powder or cream, which is used for a brightening effect)
Using a cream highlighter, to accent the rest of your face, will accentuate your hazel eyes even more. Choose a highlighter with warm tones for a fresh look.
- Lightly apply highlighter at the corners of your eyes, above your eyebrows and on the bulge of your cheeks.
- Choose a highlighter that contains shimmer for a more special evening look.
Part 3 of 3: Making Smoky Makeup for Hazel Eyes
Step 1. Choose eye shadows that are dark and warm tones
Not all smoky eye makeup is created equal; It is very important to choose an eyeshadow that enhances your hazel eyes, and not one that detracts from the beauty of the color. The key is to choose smoky colors that seem warm, rather than smoky colors that seem cold. Avoid cool blues and grays to pair with one of these colors:
- Eggplant color
- Brown color from dark chocolate (dark chocolate)
- Warm gray with reddish undertones
Step 2. Apply a smoky tint
Opt for a black tint with a reddish undertone to create a striking smoky makeup look for your hazel eyes. Dab a thick shadow on the upper and lower eyelids. Use the blending brush to blend out the lines to give it a smoky (like black smoke) look.
Step 3. Use gold shimmer to accent your eyes
To make your smoky eye look truly unique, apply a little glitter gold eye shadow as the top layer of color on your lids. Dab also a little gold under the lashes.
