This wikiHow teaches you how to host a Twitch channel streamer on your channel. Host mode allows your channel's viewers to watch other channels without ever leaving your channel's chat room. This is a great way to share and promote your favorite content with friends and keep the community together even when you're offline.

Method 1 of 2: Hosting Twitch on Desktop

Step 1. Go to https://www.twitch.tv in a web browser
You can use any browser on a Windows or Mac computer.
- If you're not logged in yet, click "Log In" in the top right corner and log into your Twitch account.
- If you don't have an account yet, click " Sign Up " in the upper right corner to create one.

Step 2. Click the username
It's in the upper right corner of the Twitch website. Once done, a drop down menu will appear.

Step 3. Click Channels
This button will bring up your channel with a chat room on the right.

Step 4. Type /host followed by the name of the channel in your chat room
for example, if you host the main Twitch channel, type /host twitch in your chat room. Your channel's chat room will still be active, but all viewer counts will be funneled to the hosted channel.
To stop hosting a channel, type /unhost in the chat room
Method 2 of 2: Hosting Twitch on Mobile

Step 1. Open the Twitch app
The app has a purple icon resembling a chat bubble with two lines.
- Tap here to download Twitch from the Google Play Store on Android.
- Tap here to download the Twitch app from the App Store on iPhone and iPad.

Step 2. Log in with your username or email address and password, if you haven't already

Step 3. Tap the profile picture
On Android, it's in the upper-right corner. On iPhone and iPad, it's in the upper-left corner. Your profile options and content will appear.

Step 4. Tap the Chats label
This is the fourth label below your profile picture above. This button will display your channel's chat room.

Step 5. Type /host followed by the name of the channel you want to host
For example, if you want to host the main Twitch channel, type /host twitch in your chat room. Your chat room will still be active on the channel, but all viewership will be funneled to the hosted channel.
