If you want to take your favorite perfume or cologne on the go, use a metal, glass, or plastic bottle. If you are using a metal spray bottle, align the sprayer with the spray tip of the perfume bottle and then pump it into a new bottle. If you are using a plastic sprayer, spray the perfume directly into the bottle. You can also use a small funnel to fill perfume bottles. With these options, you can transfer your perfume to small bottles for travel!

Method 1 of 3: Filling Metal Bottles via Perfume Spray
Step 1. Open the cap and spray tip on the perfume bottle
The perfume cap is plastic or glass that protects the spray tip. Meanwhile, the sprayer is the small part that you press to spray the perfume. To remove the cap from the bottle, simply lift the cap and turn it sideways. After that, gently release the sprayer with your fingers. The end of the small, vertical hose will stay in place.
This way, you can transfer your perfume from the original bottle to a travel-only bottle
Step 2. Remove the metal cap on the travel bottle
Some travel perfume bottles made of metal have a guard to protect the inside. Hold the bottom of the cover with your index and thumb, then slide it to the side. Removing this protector can make it easier for you to fill the bottle.
After removing the shield, you will find a small plastic tank that acts as a perfume reservoir
Step 3. Place the bottom of the special traveling bottle over the tip of the sprayer
At the bottom of the plastic tank there is a red dot. Align the dot with the spray tip of the perfume bottle.
If you don't remove the metal shield, that's fine. Simply align the bottom of the travel bottle with the spray tip of the perfume bottle. You can still dispense perfume even if the shield is attached
Step 4. Pump the perfume bottle to dispense the perfume into a travel-only bottle
Once the red dot at the bottom of the bottle is aligned with the tip of the sprayer, gently press down on your travel bottle. This method will transfer the perfume from the original bottle to another bottle. Keep pumping until the special traveling bottle is full.
- This has the same mechanism as when you spray perfume all over your body.
- Look at the side of the bottle to see the filling process. This can be done with the metal shield attached or removed.
- When it is full, the special travel bottle can hold 3.9 ml of perfume or the equivalent of 50 sprays.
Step 5. Replace the travel perfume bottle protector, as well as the original perfume bottle cap and sprayer
Once the bottle is full, remove the bottle from the perfume bottle, then put the metal guard back on. After that, put back the sprayer and the original perfume bottle cap.
The sprayer will emit a small amount of perfume when reinstalled. Direction the sprayer toward the drain so it doesn't get in your eyes
Method 2 of 3: Filling Plastic Bottles from Metal Perfume Bottles
Step 1. Remove the plastic cover and spray on the bottle you want to travel with
If the sprayer used is plastic, simply remove the plastic cover on the outside. Then, rotate the plastic sprayer at the top by turning it.
Remove the cap and spray bottle until the filling process is complete
Step 2. Direct the sprayer from the original perfume bottle to the travel-only bottle
Open the cap of the perfume bottle, then point the tip of the sprayer at the mouth of the plastic bottle as close as possible.
In this way, the perfume will be sprayed directly into the plastic bottle
Step 3. Press the sprayer repeatedly to fill the plastic bottle
Simply press the perfume bottle sprayer repeatedly until the plastic bottle is full. Leave about 0.64 cm (1.64 cm) of space at the top of the plastic bottle so you can re-attach the spray easily.
Step 4. Reinstall the plastic spray bottle
Once the bottle is full, put the sprayer back on the top. Turn it clockwise to tighten it. Then, attach the bottle cap.
Finally, don't forget to put the original perfume bottle cap back on
Method 3 of 3: Filling Glass or Plastic Bottles from Bottles without Sprayers
Step 1. Remove the cap of the perfume bottle, as well as the sprayer on the bottle that you will be traveling with
Both bottles must have a cap on the top. Remove the caps on both bottles, then remove the glass or plastic sprayers on the travel bottles. This way, you can easily fill the bottle.
- Spray-free perfumes are used by pouring a small amount of perfume or cologne onto the neck or wrist instead of spraying it into the air.
- If your travel bottle comes with a metal cover for decoration, remove it first so you can see how much is in the bottle.
- This method cannot be applied to perfume bottles with metal sprayers.
Step 2. Place a small funnel on top
Use a small funnel to pour out the perfume. This funnel can fit easily into the mouth of the plastic or glass container you are using.
The funnel can channel every drop of perfume in the bottle so that nothing is wasted during the transfer process
Step 3. Pour the perfume from the original bottle into the funnel
When filling an empty bottle from a bottle without a sprayer, just carefully pour the perfume through the funnel. Start slowly so as not to overflow. In addition, hold the bottom of the funnel to keep it steady. Stop pouring perfume when of the bottle is full.
If you are using a perfume bottle with a sprayer, point the nozzle at the mouth of the funnel and press the sprayer repeatedly until the reservoir is full
Step 4. Reinstall the travel sprayer, protector and bottle cap
Once the bottle is full, plug the sprayer back in, then close the bottle. After that, put the bottle back in the protector, if there is one.
