This article will teach you how to create a message on Reddit that invites lots of upvotes. When other Reddit users upvote your content, you also receive karma.

Step 1. Recognize what karma really is
Karma on Reddit refers to points received from upvotes (a mechanism similar to “likes” on Facebook) earned. You receive one karma point for each upvote, and lose one point for each downvote.

When you start a conversation, continue to add value to the conversation and upvote opportunities that can be obtained. You must respect the opinions of others in responding to their messages.
- You may (and are encouraged to) disagree with others, as long as you provide an educated and polite argument.
- Ignore any negative or provocative reply messages. If it does, you can receive a downvote.
Step 7. Take advantage of the karma bomb
A “karma bomb” is created when you respond to a would-be popular comment as soon as it is posted. If a comment receives a lot of upvotes, your message also has a chance to get a lot of upvotes because it is close to popular comments.
- For this strategy to work, you'll need to assess whether a comment will receive a lot of positive feedback. This takes a lot of time and practice.
- This is a high-risk tactic, but the rewards will be worth it. If a related comment receives a lot of downvotes, your message will likely be affected as well.

Because Reddit displays a link with the title you provide, the context of the title often determines the discussion that will take place.
Use humor in your title (eg pun or irony). Messages that are bold and surprising tend to receive a lot of upvotes

Like other social media platforms, Reddit users are passionate about visual media. Provide creative and informative titles to complement eye-catching visuals to capture other users' attention and earn upvotes.

- If you're having trouble finding ideas for messages to send, try reading articles from news sources to see current events from a new perspective. Or, you can determine it yourself.
- Reddit is mostly left-wing users. While this shouldn't prevent you from sending messages of interest and passion, it does matter when discussing issues such as gender, sexuality, and religion.
