As Tommy in Vice City, you usually spend most of your time committing crimes and being chased by the authorities. You're tired of being chased by the police, why not turn things around? You can't really be a cop, but you can dress and work like a cop. Check out step 1 to see how to become a cop in GTA Vice City.

Part 1 of 2: Dress Like a Policeman
Step 1. Complete the “Cop Land” mission first
Step 2. Visit the police station in Washington Beach
Step 3. Go inside the police station
Step 4. Enter the room to the left of the hallway
You will see a shirt icon near the wall post.
Step 5. Run to the shirt icon to put on the police uniform
Part 2 of 2: Work Like a Policeman
Step 1. Find a police car or SWAT van and get in it
Step 2. Start the "Vigilante" mission
A message telling you which button to press to start the mission will be displayed on the screen.
Step 3. Pursue the goal
A marker will appear on the mini map to show the location of your target. Pursue the target within the specified time limit.
- If successful, you will be rewarded with money and other goals will appear on the map.
- There are 12 Vigilante missions. You will fail if you do not catch your target within the given time limit or spend more than a minute outside a police vehicle.
Tips
- You can enter special military areas without being shot if you are wearing a police uniform.
- Put on a police uniform before starting the Vigilante mission to make your character look more like a cop.
- If you shoot someone inside the police station, your crime rate will instantly increase.
