Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is one of the classic GTA games that can be played on multiple platforms. In this game, you can start a mob (gang) and recruit mob members to help you complete missions. They can also help you to attack the enemy. Starting a mob in GTA: SA is easy. Once you have enough respect in the game, you can start recruiting members.

Step

Part 1 of 4: Earning Respect

Step 1. Understand what Respect is

You can gain and lose Respect while running this game. Respect is also one of the most difficult stats to raise. There are various factors that affect the ups and downs of Respect. The following is a Total Respect bar broken down into sections (added together, the total is 100%):

  • Running Respect: 40%
  • Completed Missions: 36%
  • Territory controlled: 6%
  • Total money: 6%
  • Muscle: 4%
  • Relationship progress with boyfriend: 4%
  • Appearance: 4%

Step 2. Take action to increase or decrease respect

The Running Respect category contributes 40% of your Total Respect. These are actions you can perform throughout the game that can increase or decrease respect from the total. The following are some actions that can increase or decrease Running Respect. Keep in mind that this action only affects Running Respect, which accounts for 40% of Total Respect:

  • Killing dealers: +0.005%
  • Killing enemy mob members: +0, 5%
  • Killing Grove Street mob members: –0.005%
  • One member of your mob dies: –2%
  • Seizing a territory: +30%
  • Loss of territory: –3%

Step 3. Increase Total Respect so you can give orders to mob members

Total Respect will increase if you complete missions, earn money, do exercises, and dress up. When Total Respect goes up, you can give orders to more mob members.

  • 1%: 2 mob members
  • 10%: 3 mob members
  • 20%: 4 mob members
  • 40%: 5 mob members
  • 60%: 6 mob members
  • 80%: 7 mob members

Part 2 of 4: Recruiting Gang Members

Step 1. Find some Grove Street members

Grove Street members can be found near the area used to start the game, and in every Grove Street area. You can tell that they are members of Grove Street by their green clothes.

Step 2. Aim the gun at the mob members

Aim the gun at the Grove Street member you want to recruit.

  • PC: Right mouse button
  • PS2: R1
  • Xbox: RT

Step 3. Press the Recruit button

Once you've targeted the Grove Street members you'd like to recruit, press the Recruit button to have them join you. Keep in mind that the number of mobs you can recruit depends on your Respect level.

  • PC: Press the G key. You may have changed it when setting up game controls. So, look in the Settings menu if this button doesn't work.

Part 3 of 4: Giving Commands

Step 1. Order your gang members to help with the shootout while driving the car

Any member of the mob that follows you will automatically get into the car you are driving. Use a car that can accommodate 4 people so that your strength in gun battles can be maximized. Steer your vehicle past members of the enemy mob. Your recruits will automatically start shooting at the enemy.

If there are more than three gang members following you, they can only be transported by bus and not all of them will fire their guns out the vehicle window

Step 2. Walk around with your mob members

The mob members will continue to follow you, even if they are a little slower than you. If someone attacks you, the recruit will automatically fire back. They will also shoot enemy mob members and police in sight. Don't leave them when you're in a hurry.

Part 4 of 4: Taking Other People's Territory

Step 1. Complete the "Doberman" mission for Sweet

This mission will unlock the Gang Wars feature. You can use this feature to seize and defend territory from hordes of enemies. You have to complete missions first before you can start seizing other people's territory.

Step 2. Start seizing someone else's territory

You will earn money when you take someone else's territory. Apart from that, you will also experience a fun gunfight. The territory that you have mastered is also safer to pass because the enemy hordes will be replaced with your men. Check the map which is marked with colored blocks. This indicates that the area is owned by the enemy horde. Dark areas of the map indicate that the enemy horde is large, while light colors indicate that your enemy is not very strong.

  • Purple - Ballas
  • Yellow - Los Santos Vagos

Step 3. Gather your recruits

Gather as many Grove Street recruits as possible according to your Respect level. They're not very good at gun combat, but they can distract enemies from shooting at you.

Step 4. Kill three mob members in a color-blocked area

If you want to start a Turf Battle, kill three members of the enemy horde while you are in a color-blocked area. Searching for three members of the enemy horde is easy if done in a dark-blocked area, but can be difficult in a light-blocked area. One trick you can do is to stand in an area that is blocked with a light color and shoot at the area next to it that is blocked by a dark color.

Step 5. Battle against incoming waves of mob members

After the war starts, the blocks on the map will start to flash. Members of the enemy horde will appear in three waves of attacks with increasing difficulty. You'll have to battle three waves of incoming enemies in order to capture the block.

Find a high spot where you can shoot easily into the street. It can also protect you from being surrounded by enemies

Step 6. Don't rush to seize enemy territory too early

Without going into the various spoilers, you won't be able to do battle with the other mobs in the middle of the game, and all your achievements at the start of the game will be canceled while the game is running. Only do battle with other mobs if it's a time when you really need the money.
