Glass screen protector serves to keep electronic goods safe and not cracked. However, the protective film can form air bubbles if it is not installed properly or if the screen is not completely flat. Once installed, you won't be able to remove the air bubbles inside the screen protector easily unless you remove and reinstall it. If air bubbles appear in the corners of your appliance, cooking oil can fix the problem quickly.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Reinstalling the Screen Protector
Step 1. Lift one corner of the screen protector with a razor blade to remove it
Just gently slide the sharp part of the knife into one of the corners of the screen protector. Keep the knife horizontal so it doesn't hit the screen and scratch it. After lifting one corner, the screen protector can be slowly lifted from the device. Once the adhesive loosens, remove the screen protector from your device.
- Do not try to bend the screen protector to remove it as doing so could break or crack the object.
- Most screen protectors can be removed and reinstalled many times.
Step 2. Clean and dry the screen with a clean dust-proof cloth
Dust and dirt on the screen protector is the cause of bubbles. Dampen the corners of a cleaning cloth with rubbing alcohol, then wipe the surface of your device's screen to remove any dust or dirt. After using a wet cloth, use a dust-proof cloth to dry the screen of your device.
You can also use disposable wipes made specifically for cleaning the screen. Disposable screen cleaners can be purchased at electronics stores
Tip:
Clean your device screen in a dust-free room. If you turn on the air conditioner or fan, turn it off first so the dust doesn't fly all over the place.
Step 3. Wipe off the remaining dirt with masking tape
Adhere the tape to the surface of the screen, then press gently so that it sticks tightly. Gently peel off the tape so that small dust and debris can be removed from the screen. Do this on the entire surface of the screen, including the area that has been cleaned to make sure that no dirt remains.
Cover the entire surface of the screen with tape if you want to clean it all at once
Step 4. Replace the screen protector
Align the corners of the screen protector with the device screen to prevent it from tilting. Once the position feels right, point one of the corners at the screen, then press until it sticks tightly. The glue on the back of the screen protector will stick right away.
Install the screen protector in a humid room, such as a bathroom, to reduce the risk of air bubbles forming
Step 5. Rub your finger or credit card onto the surface of the screen protector
Once your screen protector starts to stick to your device, press down on the center of the screen with your finger or the edge of the credit card. Press in from the center, then smooth all the way to the edges to get rid of any air bubbles under the screen protector. Smooth the entire screen until no air bubbles are visible.
If air bubbles are still visible on the screen, reinstall the screen protector or buy a new one
Method 2 of 2: Getting Rid of Air Bubbles in the Corner of the Screen Protector with Oil
Step 1. Wet the tip of a cotton swab with cooking oil
Use vegetable oil or olive oil for best results. Pour 5-10 ml of oil into a small bowl to make it easier to dip the cotton swab. Dampen the tip of the cotton swab with oil, but not so wet that the oil drips off.
Step 2. Rub a cotton ball into the bubbled edges of the screen protector
Shake the cotton swab to remove any dripping oil, then wipe the tip against the edge of the screen protector near the air bubbles. Apply a thin layer of oil so that it can get into the gaps in the screen protector. The oil will smooth out any air bubbles that will keep them tightly sealed again.
Tip:
If the air bubbles don't go away after you apply the oil, slightly lift the edges of the screen protector with your fingernail or razor to allow the oil to seep under.
Step 3. Press the screen protector and wipe the oil that comes out
Once the screen protector is bubble-free, press it firmly against the device screen. Use a paper towel to wipe the edges of the screen protector and absorb any excess oil that is pushed out.
