This wikiHow teaches you how to browse older versions of a site with the Internet Archive's "Wayback Machine".
Step
Step 1. Visit https://web.archive.org in your browser
Step 2. Enter the address of the site you want to visit
You can also enter keywords to search the site.
Step 3. Select the year on the timeline
If the page you want is available in the archive, you'll see a vertical black bar in the timeline. The black bar indicates when the page was archived.
Step 4. Scroll to the screen, then click a date that has a blue or green circle
You will be immediately taken to the old version page, or asked to choose from several available times.

Step 5. Click the time on the menu that appears
The menu will display the page fetch time. Select a time to see how the site looked at that date and time.
Tips
- Images and Flash content on the site may not be archived. However, all text content will still appear.
- In addition to websites, the Internet Archive also has a film archive with nearly one million digital versions of the film. Apart from that, you can also access various music concerts, sound recordings and books, as well as texts from books and magazines. A variety of topics about life are available on the Internet Archive, from ARPANET histories, articles on ants, science fiction books, US supreme court documents, and microfilm footage.
- If you search for a specific page from the old site, the link to that page may still be accessible.
