If you find a giant pimple that suddenly appears on your face and want to get rid of it immediately, just use crushed aspirin mixed with water to reduce the size and redness of the pimple. However, be careful when using this medication, because the effects of using aspirin like this in the long term are not known. Keep in mind that aspirin works to thin the blood and applying too much aspirin on the face which will then be absorbed by the skin and into the bloodstream can be bad for you.
Step
Part 1 of 2: Using Aspirin on the Face
Step 1. Crush 1 aspirin
You have to grind it perfectly for the aspirin to work properly. You can take 1-3 aspirins, but not more than that. Remember, just as you don't want to swallow a stack of aspirin without asking your doctor, you also don't want to put a stack of aspirin in your face without discussing it with your doctor.
Taking more than two aspirins, especially over a short period of time (such as 5 or 10 aspirins per day), can cause blood thinning problems because the aspirin is absorbed into the bloodstream. While it won't cause an ulcer, that much aspirin is absorbed into the bloodstream no small matter
Step 2. Dissolve crushed aspirin in water
You need 2-3 servings of water for 1 serving of aspirin. You'll need to make a thick, slightly gritty paste, and for that you won't need more than a few drops of water (since you're only using 1 aspirin).
Step 3. Apply the paste directly to the pimple
Make sure you use a clean cotton swab, or, if you prefer to use your fingers, wash your fingers thoroughly with soap and/or rubbing alcohol first to make sure you don't add new bacteria to your skin.
Step 4. Leave the aspirin on the skin for 15 minutes
It's best not to leave the aspirin on the skin for more than 15 minutes. Otherwise, the skin will absorb a lot of the aspirin into the bloodstream, and the aspirin will stay there for some time.
Step 5. Use a clean wet tissue to wipe off the aspirin
This can also be an opportunity for a light, gentle exfoliation.
Part 2 of 2: Using a More Natural Acne Shrink
Step 1. Use tea tree oil
Tea tree oil actually works better than benzoyl peroxide in reducing lesions and fighting acne. Apply a little tea tree oil on the pimple until the pimple is gone.
Step 2. Stick the raw potato slices onto your skin
Raw potatoes can work as an anti-inflammatory, if you put them on the skin. Leave it for a few minutes, then wash the potato residue off your skin with cold water.
Tips
- Clean your face before applying the paste.
- Uncoated aspirin will be easier to destroy.
- The active ingredient in aspirin, acetylsalicylic acid, is very similar (though not exactly the same as) the salicylic acid used in anti-acne treatments.
- Wash your hands before and after dealing with acne on your face. Bacteria can make pimples bigger and eventually lead to more pimples on your face!
- Be patient in dealing with your skin problems. While acne won't go away overnight, it usually gets worse before it gets better, so don't give up!
- If irritation occurs, limit application time to one day or discontinue use. If irritation persists, contact a doctor.
- Exfoliating is a great way to kill bacteria in pimples, so make sure you give it a try!
Warning
- Do not try this method using other painkillers. Only use 100% aspirin. This method will not work with acetaminophen (Tylenol), ibuprofen (Advil), or other common painkillers. Do not use painkillers that are a mixture of several ingredients such as Excedrin.
- Although rare, some people are allergic to aspirin. Do a test to see if you are one of them by applying it to the treatment area behind the ear.
- If you are under 18 and experience cold or flu-like symptoms, avoid all products that contain aspirin.
- Do not use this method if you have Reye's syndrome, have recently consumed large amounts of alcohol, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are taking other drugs.
- Aspirin is associated with tinnitus, a ringing in the ears. If you have tinnitus, you should avoid this procedure.
- Do not make an aspirin mask, or if you wish to do so, use less than 3 aspirins. Leave it on your face for 15 minutes or less, and repeat only occasionally.
- Since you can absorb the chemical through your skin and the long-term effects of using aspirin topically are still unknown, it's best not to make it a habit.
