Have you ever enjoyed facials? A good facial starts with gently cleansing your face. Then, you steam and massage your face to increase blood circulation and make your skin glow. Use the right mask for your skin type, then finish the facial series with toning and moisturizing fluids. Facial will make your facial skin fresh, bright and beautiful.

Part 1 of 2: Cleansing and Exfoliating

Step 1. Make sure your hair doesn't cover your face

Use a rubber band or bobby pins to tie your hair, so that your forehead is not completely covered by hair. Thus, your entire face will enjoy the benefits of facials.

Step 2. Wash your face with a gentle cleanser

Use a cleaning product that is suitable and you usually use as the start of a whole series of facials. Wash your face with warm water (not hot or cold water, because hot and cold temperatures are not good for facial skin) then pat it with a soft towel to dry it.

  • Make sure all the rest of the cosmetics have been washed off the face before you continue the facial process.
  • To enjoy more luxury, try using the cleansing method with oil to clean your face. Rub coconut oil, almond oil, olive oil or jojoba oil on the surface of the face, then wipe with a towel that has been moistened with warm water. Rinse your face afterwards, and pat dry lightly.

Step 3. Make a scrub for facials

You can use store-bought rubs or make your own from ingredients you have at home. A good exfoliating scrub contains sugar, which will scrub and exfoliate dead skin cells without damaging the healthy layer of skin underneath. Try one of these three great mixes:

  • 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 tablespoon honey and 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon finely ground almonds, 1 tablespoon honey and 1 tablespoon aloe vera
  • 1 tablespoon ground oatmeal, 1 tablespoon honey and 1 tablespoon milk

Step 4. Gently scrub your skin

Massage the rubbing mixture in slow circular motions all over your face, from the T area down your nose, cheeks outwards, and under your chin. Do not press too hard when massaging, because the rubbing ingredients will work on their own on your facial skin and remove the layer of dead skin cells that are on the outside.

Step 5. Rinse off the remaining scrub on your face

Use warm water to rinse to leave your face fresh and glowing. Pat your face with a soft towel to prepare it for the next facial.

Step 6. Also consider using a dry facial brush or other exfoliating technique

If you don't like scrubs, there are other ways to exfoliate. You can use a dry facial brush, or an exfoliating towel, or a special acid solution such as glycolic acid. Whichever method you choose, it's all good, as long as you don't combine more than one method, because excessive exfoliation will damage your facial skin.

  • If you use a facial brush, buy a brush that is made of very fine fibers and is designed for use on facial skin (not for use on body skin). Start with a completely dry face and brush in circular motions.
  • If you use glycolic acid, let the liquid sit on your skin for five minutes before rinsing it off.

Part 2 of 2: Finishing Touches with Mask and Moisturizer

Step 1. Use a face mask

While the pores are still damp and open from the evaporation process, use a mask to draw out any remaining dirt. The type of mask you use must be right for your skin type. You can choose a paste mask or a mask in the form of a paste that is widely sold in stores, or make your own like the following mixture:

  • For oily and acne-prone skin, mix 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 tablespoon of white bentonite mud.
  • For dry skin, mix 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 mashed avocado or banana.
  • For normal skin, mix 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 tablespoon of yogurt and 1 mashed avocado or banana.

Step 2. Leave the mask on your face for 15 minutes

During these 15 minutes, the ingredients in the mask will nourish your skin, so that when the mask is removed, your facial skin will become fresher and more radiant. If you want to enjoy a relaxing time while the mask is working, slice a cucumber. Lie down in a comfortable place and place a slice of cucumber on each eyelid. This will keep the mask from getting into your eyes and wetting your eyelids.

Step 3. Rinse the mask off the face

After 15 minutes, rinse off the mask with warm water. Honey tends to be sticky, so make sure you wash off all the remnants of the mask thoroughly. Use a soft towel to pat and dry your skin.

Step 4. Use a moisturizer

The last stage of the facial series is to use a moisturizer so that the facial skin remains bright for a long period of time after the facial is finished. Use your usual moisturizing cream and allow it to fully absorb into the layers of your skin before you put your make-up back on.

Tips

  • You can put the mint or lemon mixture in hot water. The steam of this hot water mixture refreshes facial skin as well as relieves sinus cavities.
  • You need to do a facial at least once a week.
  • After removing/cleaning off the remaining mask, you can sprinkle cold water on your face or soak your face in cold water for a while.
  • For oily skin, try using a mud mask.
  • For dry skin, use a mask in the form of a gel or cream.

Warning

  • Don't do facials every day, just once a week is enough, because facials are not daily treatments.
  • Do not put your head and face in hot water. Hot water is only used for evaporation. Keep your face at a safe distance from hot water, including when washing your face.
