Method 1 of 2: Using Google Backup

Step 1. Open the settings of your old phone
Settings options are generally denoted by a cog icon, and can be found on the home screen or in the application list.

Step 2. Tap the Personal tab

Step 3. Swipe the screen, then tap Backup & Reset on the orange option section

Step 4. Tap the Back up my data button until it turns On to ensure that the contacts in your old phone are backed up to your Google account

Step 5. Unlock on new Android phone

Step 6. Open the settings of your new phone

Step 7. Tap the Personal tab

Step 8. Swipe the screen, then tap Accounts
This option can generally be found above Backup & reset in the orange options section.

Step 9. Tap Add account

Step 10. Select Google

Step 11. Enter your email address

Step 12. Tap Next

Step 13. Enter your email password

Step 14. Tap Next

Step 15. Tap Accept

Step 16. Make sure the Automatically back up device data option is checked

Step 17. Tap Next
Your new phone will start "pulling" data from your Google account, including contact information.
Method 2 of 2: Using a SIM Card

Step 1. Open the Dialer app on the old Android phone
This application with a phone-shaped icon can generally be found on the home screen of the phone.

Step 2. Tap the button at the top right corner of the screen

Step 3. Select Import/Export

Step 4. Select Export to.vcf file
The option may also be labeled Export to SIM.

Step 5. Tap Allow when prompted

Step 6. Select SD Card

Step 7. Tap Save

Step 8. Remove the SIM card from the old Android phone, then install the SIM card in the new Android phone
How to remove and install the SIM card varies, depending on the type of phone. Therefore, you may need assistance from the operator's customer service.
Tips
- When backing up data, you need to be signed in to your Google account. If you're not signed in to your Google account on your old phone, tap Account backup at the top of the page Backup & reset, then enter your Google account email address and password.
- You can also sign in to your Google account the first time you turn on your new Android phone.
Warning
- Do not format the old phone before making sure that all contacts have been transferred to the new phone.
- A SIM card that can be used in one device may not necessarily be compatible with another. However, you can visit the carrier gallery and ask customer service for help moving contacts to a new SIM card.
