This wikiHow teaches you how to move apps and personal data from your old iPhone to your new iPhone, and share files (one at a time) between two iPhones via AirDrop.

Method 1 of 3: Creating a Backup File on iCloud
Step 1. Open the settings menu or “Settings”
on old iPhones.
You can find this settings menu on the home screen.
Step 2. Touch Apple ID
ID is displayed at the top of the screen.
Step 3. Touch iCloud
Step 4. Slide the switch on any content or data you want to move
Make sure the switch for each option you want to move is green
Step 5. Touch iCloud Backup
Step 6. Slide the “iCloud Backup” switch to the on or “On” position
A pop-up message window will be displayed.
Step 7. Touch OK
Step 8. Touch Back Up Now
Step 1. Turn on the new device
You will be “greeted” with a “Hello” page.
- Follow this method after you create a backup file in iCloud on the old device.

If you've already set up a new device, you'll need to reset your phone to start over. Here's how:

Open the settings menu or “ Settings device
- Touch " General ”.
- Choose " Reset ”.
- Choose " Erase all content and settings " The iPhone will restart and display the “Hello” page.

Step 2. Follow the instructions shown on the screen until you arrive at the WiFi page
Step 3. Connect the device to a WiFi network
Your device must be connected to a network in order for you to restore data via iCloud backup files.
Step 4. Follow the on-screen instructions until you arrive at the “Apps & Data” page
Step 5. Touch Restore from iCloud backup
The login page will be displayed after that.
Step 6. Sign in to iCloud account
Use the same Apple ID and password as the entry used on the old iPhone.
Step 7. Select the most recent backup file when prompted
The data recovery/restore process will start.
Once done, all the data backed up to iCloud will be available on the new device
Method 3 of 3: Sending Files Via AirDrop
Step 1. Enable AirDrop on both iPhones
If you just need to send a few files from one device to another, it's easier to use AirDrop. Here's how to enable AirDrop:
- Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen to open the control center window (“Control Center”).
- Touch and hold the connection icon (WiFi, data plan, or Bluetooth). The menu will be displayed afterwards.
- Touch " AirDrop ”.
- Specify whether you will only receive data (“ Receive Only ”), connects to only the device of someone in the contact list (“ Contacts Only ”), or anyone (“ Everyone ”).
- If another iPhone user's Apple ID isn't saved in your contacts list, you won't be able to see their phone if the “ Contacts Only "chosen. In this situation, you can add it as a contact or select the option “ Everyone ”.
Step 2. Open the app with the data you want to move
For example, if you want to send a photo, open the app Photos.
Step 3. Touch the content you want to post
The content will be opened in the app.
You can select multiple photos in most applications (eg Photos). Just touch and hold one of the photos, then select the other photos you want
Step 4. Touch the “Share” icon
This icon is usually at the bottom of the screen. A list of file sharing options will appear.
The AirDrop segment is at the top of the “Sharing” menu. People nearby who have the AirDrop feature enabled on their device (if you select “Everyone”) will be displayed on the page
Step 5. Touch the iPhone to which the data is sent
As long as both devices use the correct AirDrop settings, files can be moved to the destination iPhone.
