This wikiHow teaches you how to save apps in folders so their icons don't appear on the home screen, or hide them using the Restrictions feature.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Hiding Apps Through Restrictions
Step 1. Open the device settings menu (“Settings”)
This menu is indicated by the gray gear icon which is usually displayed on the home screen.
Step 2. Touch General
It's at the top of the page.
Step 3. Swipe the screen and touch Restrictions
This option is in the lower half of the page.
If you have activated the “Restrictions” feature, enter the passcode when prompted. You don't need to complete the steps to enable “Restrictions” or create a passcode
Step 4. Touch Enable Restrictions
Step 5. Enter the passcode twice
You can enter a four-digit number as a code.
Make sure you choose a number you can remember. If you forget the code, you will not be able to access the “Restrictions” settings and the block can only be corrected by clearing or wiping device data
Step 6. Slide the switch next to the apps that need to be hidden to the off or “Off” position
The button will turn white and the app will be hidden from the home screen.
- This procedure will not affect the data in the application, but you will not be able to access the application until you enable or remove it from the " Restrictions " feature.
- This procedure can not always be followed for all applications.
Method 2 of 2: Hiding Apps in Folders
Step 1. Press and hold the app icon until all the icons jiggle
Step 2. Drag the icon that needs to be hidden over the icon of another app
Step 3. Release the icon
A new folder containing the two applications will be created.
Step 4. Drag the other apps you want to hide to the right side of the folder
The application will be taken to the second tab.
The currently accessed tab is indicated by a bright dot at the bottom of the folder
Step 5. Release the app icon
Step 6. Press the “Home” button
The application will remain in the second tab of the folder and will not be visible when you access the home screen.
- You can add more apps that need to be hidden to that folder.
- You can add more tabs to the folder to hide apps in greater depth. However, there must be at least one app stored in the front tabs for you to hide the app further.
