Most of the people spend a lot of money to buy a shampoo that doesn't give the desired end result. Today, shampoo is not the best product for maintaining healthy hair. Based on research, natural ingredients such as milk and honey can be used to restore healthy hair and make it look more beautiful and shiny. Plus, it's also more cost-effective because you only need to use the products you normally have in the fridge!
Step
Part 1 of 3: Making a Conditioner Mix
Step 1. Decide on the product you want to use as a conditioner
This conditioning can be done using milk alone, but you can also use the other ingredients in the pantry as a natural hair mask to make your hair look beautiful and shiny.
For regular milk conditioner, whole milk is more suitable. You can use low-fat milk for fine, thin hair, or creamed milk for coarse hair. Put the milk in a small spray bottle and spray the milk on your hair. Wait for 30 minutes before washing your hair with shampoo
Step 2. Add honey to the milk conditioner
Honey helps lock in hair moisture, and is a favorite ingredient to combine with milk. Milk and honey conditioners are perfect for repairing damaged hair.
Mix 500 ml of warm whole milk with 2 tablespoons of honey, then stir until evenly distributed. Pour on hair and leave for 30 minutes
Step 3. Use coconut milk instead of regular milk
Coconut milk can be used with essential oils as a mask for dry hair. For this recipe, purchase essential oils to add to the mask mix if you wish.
Refrigerate a can of coconut milk without sugar overnight before pouring it over your hair, starting at the roots. Let stand for 20 minutes before rinsing hair and combing to remove excess coconut milk
Step 4. Try fruits on conditioner
If used properly, food and fruits can be used as a mixture to beautify hair. Foodstuffs like bananas, avocados, and olive oil can be mixed together to treat dry, damaged, and rough hair.
- Mix one banana with a tablespoon of olive oil, coconut oil, or almond oil (to taste). After forming a paste, you can apply the mixture to your hair and let it sit for 30 minutes before shampooing and using conditioner as usual.
- Mash an avocado with 1-2 teaspoons of olive oil, then apply it all over your hair. Style your hair in a loose bun and cover it with a shower cap, then let it sit for 30 minutes before rinsing with shampoo and conditioner.
Step 5. Make a natural shampoo
Since you're using a milk conditioner for your hair, you may be interested in replacing the harmful chemicals in your shampoo with natural ones. Eggs and apple cider vinegar are the right ingredients for a natural shampoo.
- Separate two egg yolks from the whites and beat them before applying to hair. If you want to let it sit for a few minutes on your hair, you can mix an egg yolk with 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise as a hair pretreatment cream.
- Apple cider vinegar works well with water to use as a substitute for shampoo when you're in the shower. Mix to 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with 250 ml of water, and double the amount if necessary to clean all sections of hair.
Part 2 of 3: Conditioning Hair in Bath
Step 1. Pour the milk evenly throughout the hair
Use a spray bottle to spray the milk evenly on your hair. If you want, you can use a comb to spread the milk through your hair, but you may need to spray more milk.
Use a clean comb or hairbrush, and make sure you clean and remove any strands of hair stuck to the comb after each use. Milky hair on a comb or brush can rot quickly and lead to the development of bacteria that are detrimental to your health
Step 2. Wait for at least 30 minutes
Let hair absorb the benefits of milk for best results. You need to treat your hair with milk a few hours before taking a shower. For thicker or longer hair, you may need to leave the milk on your hair longer than 30 minutes.
Do not leave hair too long without washing it. Don't let your hair feel sticky
Step 3. Take a shower
It's time to rinse the hair from the milk. Take a shower as usual and keep a towel near the shower for easy use when you're done showering. Hot water may feel good in a shower, but it can actually cause damage to your hair if you want to strengthen and condition your hair.
Cold water helps soften hair and skin. If you use natural ingredients to keep your hair healthy, cold water can be an "ingredient" or additional element that is beneficial for your hair
Step 4. Wash your hair
Even if you're afraid of stripping away the natural ingredients used to strengthen and make your hair shiny, you really need to remove the excess milk and other ingredients used. These ingredients seep in and stick to your hair when you wait 30 minutes before showering, so if you don't wash your hair, it will end up feeling sticky and smelling bad.
You can use other ingredients in place of shampoo. You can rub a beaten egg from your scalp to your hair and leave it on for a few minutes while you wash the rest of your body
Step 5. Dry your hair with a towel
Even if you want to style your hair while it's still wet, you'll need to absorb excess moisture by patting a towel against your hair. Make sure no water drips from the ends of your hair before you style or blow dry your hair.
Tool drying, straightening, and curling can cause heat damage to your hair. Fortunately, milk and honey can repair the damage. However, it's a good idea not to use these styling products or tools every day
Part 3 of 3: Maintaining Healthy Hair
Step 1. Style your hair as usual
If possible, don't style your hair using heat sources. High temperatures can cause damage to the hair if exposed too often.
Also, don't comb your hair when it's wet. Wet hair breaks down faster than dry hair. Use your fingers to separate the tangles as this process can actually strengthen the hair
Step 2. Don't use hair care products every day
In fact, hair has natural oils that are lifted when you wash your hair. When oil builds up, your hair will look greasy (and this is not the look you want your hair to look like). However, daily removal of hair's natural oils can be harmful to the scalp.
You still need to clean your hair in the shower every day. Every now and then, skip the shampooing process and just use water and the friction of your hands to clean your hair. You can also treat your hair with conditioner only when not shampooing
Step 3. Keep using milk as conditioner
Keep hair soft and shiny by using milk conditioner consistently. This conditioning helps repair hair over time, and keeps hair healthy and moisturized for longer.
After about a week of stopping using harsh chemical conditioners, your hair may feel limp or greasy. But if you stick with milk conditioner, this “transition period” will eventually come to an end
Tips
- In the first week or two, there may be a buildup of material in the hair. This happens because your hair is used to being treated with harsh chemicals in the shampoo you previously used. However, the buildup of these ingredients will wear off over time and leave your hair looking smooth and shiny.
- Mix milk and honey in a press bottle for the best natural shampoo-conditioner product.
- Store apple cider vinegar in a bottle in the bathroom. Prepare a smaller, smaller bottle with a volume marker for storing the apple cider vinegar and water mixture. Fill the bottle with both ingredients until you reach the volume limit, shake it, and use it on your hair as a natural shampoo.
- You can also use lemon as this fruit helps to nourish the hair.
