Is your favorite white mockup dirty from coffee or tea stains? These stains are often stubborn and difficult to remove, especially if they have accumulated long enough and hardened. However, there are several commercial and home cleaning products that you can use to remove these stains. The cleaning process is indeed quite tiring, but your beautiful mockup can return to white as before.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Using Common Household Products
Step 1. Brush the stain with baking soda
Make a thick paste of baking soda and water. Apply the paste to the stain and scrub with a brush or sponge.
- Rinse the glass and repeat the cleaning process if necessary. A new layer of paste can go deeper into the surface of the stain.
- Baking soda delivers the right intensity of abrasion to lift light stains.
Step 2. Use vinegar
This method is more environmentally friendly and does not require bleach or chemical cleaning products. Heat 240 ml of vinegar over medium heat until hot. Soak the mok in hot vinegar for 4 hours or overnight.
Step 3. Brush the mok with salt
Wet the inside of the mok with a little water. Add about a tablespoon of salt and scrub the mold clean. The salt acts as a mild abrasive that can get into the stain and lift it off the surface of the mock.
You can also use a lemon zest when rubbing salt on the surface of the mug. The salt acts as an abrasive, while the lemon acts as a bleaching agent that helps remove coffee or tea stains
Step 4. Use a denture cleaning tablet
Put the tablet in a cup filled with hot water. The tablet will fizz and dissolve as it cleans and lifts the stain from the mock.
Rinse thoroughly after the tablet has stopped fizzing
Method 2 of 2: Using Commercial Cleaning Products
Step 1. Soak the mok in a mixture of water and bleach
Pour 3.8 liters of warm water and 1 tablespoon of bleach into a large bowl. Soak the mok as long as needed until the stain disappears (between an hour to overnight).
- Alternatively, you can use a sponge to scrub the mold clean.
- The water-to-bleach ratio mentioned above provides a powerful enough power to clean cutlery. If the stain doesn't lift, you can increase the power of the mixture, but make sure you wash and rinse the moke thoroughly afterward.
Step 2. Use a magic eraser sponge
To use it, wipe the moistened product on a dry mock. Rub the product in a circular motion and moderate pressure.
Rinse the mok thoroughly after cleaning. Do not swallow product particles
Step 3. Use cleaning powder
Products such as Kifa and kitchen utensil cleaning powder from Daiso are very effective for cleaning ceramic cutlery. Usually, these products need to be mixed with a little water and rubbed on the surface of the cutlery using a cloth or sponge.
- Be careful when using the product as the particles may be too coarse and may cause scratches. To prevent this, test the product on the side of the mug first before applying it to the rest of the glass.
- You can also use a high-quality stain remover such as Oxi-Clean. Add the product to a mug filled with hot water, then let it sit until the stain lifts. Once the stain is gone, rinse the mok thoroughly.
Step 4. Use a professional espresso machine cleaning product
You may need to dig a little deeper, but if you want your mockup to look white and clean again, you can buy this cleaning product. Espresso machine cleaning products are specially formulated to remove stains, especially coffee stains.
