Computers and other devices running Windows 8 have a unique look and design when compared to devices running earlier versions of Windows. Windows 8 programs and applications can be found by accessing the Modern Interface or Desktop.

Method 1 of 4: Via Modern Interface
Step 1. Press WIN + C keys on the keyboard at the same time
The Charms menu will appear.
Step 2. Click on the “Search,” then type the name of the program you are looking for
Step 3. When the search results appear, click on the program you want
Method 2 of 4: Via Desktop
Step 1. Press WIN + D keys simultaneously to access the Windows 8 desktop
Step 2. Press WIN + R keys simultaneously, then type the criteria for the program you are looking for
Step 3. Press “Enter” to start the search
Windows 8 will search for programs and applications that are already installed on your device according to the criteria you entered.
Method 3 of 4: Via File Explorer on Desktop
Step 1. Press WIN + D keys simultaneously to access the Windows 8 desktop
Step 2. Click the “Folder” icon on the taskbar
A new “File Explorer” session will open.
Step 3. Click on the “Search libraries” section, then type the name of the program you are looking for
Step 4. Select the program in question when the search results appear
Method 4 of 4: Searching for Apps
Step 1. Right-click on the Windows 8 home screen desktop
Step 2. Click “All Apps” that appears in the lower right corner of the screen
An alphabetical list of all programs will appear on the screen.
