When you are looking for the perfect watch, it is very important to choose a watch that suits you. Sometimes to achieve perfection on your watch you have to unscrew some of the joints on your watch. Read the following article to learn how to unscrew some of the joints on your watch to suit your wrist diameter.
Step
Method 1 of 5: First Steps
Step 1. Measure the watch
Before you disconnect some joints on your watch, you should measure your watch so you know how many joints to take. Here's what you should do:
- Put your watch on your wrist. Find the best position that makes you comfortable when using the watch. Once you have a comfortable watch position on your wrist, rotate your wrist so that the clasp on your watch is facing upwards.
- When the watch is worn on your wrist, loosen and hold the joint at the same time until you find out how many joints to remove.
- Look at where the joints are gathering at your wrists. Loosen the joints to find out how many joints to remove.
- If you are not sure that your watch will fit your wrist after measuring it. You can leave one connection out of the number of connections that must be removed.
- This way you can see if the connection should be disconnected again or not.
Step 2. Prepare your equipment
To disconnect from the watch, some tools may be required. Among them:
- Something thin, sharp tool or needle.
- Little pliers.
- Small hammer.
- Screwdriver.
- tray.
Step 3. Prepare the area
Make sure that the area to do this is completely clean. And place the cloth on the floor so that pieces and small parts of the watch don't get scattered.
Method 2 of 5: Disconnecting Using Round or Flat Pins
Step 1. Separate the bracelet
Some metal watches must first separate or open the bracelet on your watch before disconnecting. To do this:
- Remove the rod on your watch's latch.
- Use the needle to remove the rod from your watch's latch. Push until the small stick comes out.
- Do not let you lose the little stick!
Step 2. Select the connection to be disconnected
Use the plunger needle to push the small rod holding the joint. Follow the direction of the arrows on the bottom of your watch case.
- You'll need to use a 2 or 3mm diameter needle to push the rod out and the part that comes out is clamped with pliers and pulled.
- Store small sticks in the tray provided.
Step 3. Look carefully at the valves on each rod
Because the valve serves to hold the stem so it doesn't come out. Don't lose this valve, because when reconnecting the connection, the rod needs this valve to stay strong and not come off.
Step 4. Remove the rod on the joint
Repeat the same process on the other connection.
Step 5. Disconnect everything else
If you disconnect from the side of the bracelet near the dial of your watch, do so in the same way. When you have disconnected, reconnect your watch.
Step 6. Put your watch back on
If you've removed any connections you don't need on your watch, reattach the rods in the opposite direction when you took them out.
- If your watch has a valve on each joint. You must install the valve at the time of reassembling the connection.
- Use a small hammer to hit the small rod to secure it.
Step 7. Reconnect the gasper/hook
If you want to connect the gasper, you must do the opposite of the way you removed it.
Step 8. Try on your watch
Your watch should fit snugly on your wrist. If it's still too big, you can re-release some of the joints.
- If your watch is too big or too small. You can adjust it by inserting a small rod into the hole in the gasper as an alternative to adjusting the size.
- Make sure the connection, small rod and valve that were removed earlier are not lost. Because you will need it later on.
Method 3 of 5: Disconnecting with Screws
Step 1. Know the connection to disconnect
You simply turn your watch. Find out how many joints to remove using screws.
Step 2. Remove the screw, Use a 1mm screwdriver to remove the screw
Slowly turn the screwdriver counterclockwise.
- Continue until the screws become loose.
- Use tweezers or pliers to pick up the screws. Secure the screws as they will be used when attaching the connection.
- Perform this step on a table or on a floor covered with a cloth to prevent the screws from being lost.
Step 3. Disconnect
Once the screws are removed, remove the connections you marked on your watch. Do the same if you are going to disconnect another one.
Step 4. Reconnect your watch
After you disconnect, you will need to reattach your watch by reattaching the screw with a screwdriver in the joint.
Method 4 of 5: Disconnecting the Stretch Band
Step 1. Measure the stretch band
You can pull the strap from any part of your watch. Grasp the excess stretch band with your hands. Calculate how many joints must be removed by counting them. The count that comes after you count it is the number of joints that must be removed. For example, you count three joints that must be removed after fitting your wrist, then the connection with a count of four must be removed. The splice on this type of watch is very easy to remove.
Step 2. Save the watch
Keep your watch upside down on the table in case you want to disconnect.
Step 3. Open the edge of the cover on the bottom
Turn over and press the bottom crease.
Step 4. Disconnect
Disconnect the connection by sliding the joint to the side.
Step 5. Attach the bracelets together
This method involves both staples on the same string when you removed them.
Method 5 of 5: Unscrew On Button Type Watches
Step 1. Remove the pin
Use pin pushers when you disconnect. Make sure it matches the direction of the arrow marked on your watch.
Step 2. Press gently
Hold the connection to be removed. Gently press the joint up. Simultaneously press down gently on the joint closest to the gasper until the joint is completely released.
Step 3. Release the pressure
Gently press the joint down.
Step 4. Disconnect
After the steps above have been carried out, you can disconnect the connection by moving it up and down.
Step 5. Disconnect slowly
After the connection is loose, you can pull the loose connection earlier. Do it slowly on each joint to be removed.
Step 6. Install the watch
To put your watch back on, you just have to reverse the way you did it.
Suggestion
- After disconnecting, the watch will shift slightly at 06:00. In general this is a balancing process on your watch joint.
- If you have trouble disconnecting, using a magnifying glass can help you see the tiny parts of your watch.
Attention
- Avoid your watch being too small on your wrist. Because it can hurt your wrist!
- Be sure to accurately measure your wrist before unplugging your watch.
