When winter is over and the weather is getting brighter and warmer, your mood may also immediately feel better, for you are no longer weighed down by the cold, dark days of winter. Tolstoy once wrote, “Spring is the time to make new plans and projects”, and it's true, spring is the perfect time to renew life's purpose, clean your home to make it fresh, and to revive your garden from its winter slumber. Spring days will invite you to spend more time outside, and you'll find a variety of ways to do this while enjoying the refreshing spring days.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Making a New Beginning
Step 1. Start making a plan
Early spring is the best time to plan how you are going to spend and enjoy all spring. You may want to garden, clean, learn something new, change your appearance, arrange renovations, and do other activities that fit the mood of the new season. Plan what you want to do and make the most of this opportunity.
- Spring is an ideal time to make plans for the warmer months, as well as any changes and transitions you'll want to make.
- If you want to take a summer vacation, start planning that vacation if you haven't already.
Step 2. Clean up in the spring
Spring cleaning is a long-standing tradition to get rid of the remnants of winter and give the home a fresh start for the warmer months. The house and the environment around the house will also feel more comfortable and enjoyable for you, your family, and friends.
- Spring is a good time to thoroughly clean the house, especially at this time, the energy that was pent up during the winter has awakened in most of us. Spring cleaning is not the same as regular regular cleaning; Spring cleanup focuses more on creating changes like setting aside more space, cleaning and getting rid of things you don't need, or even renovating the house.
- Gather all the cleaning tools you need. Observe carefully the condition of the brooms, brushes, mops, and foam sponges, and make sure they can still be used properly. If not, consider replacing with a new one.
- Provide cleaning products. You can make your own cleaning products by checking out some of the wikiHow articles that fall under the category of home cleaning preparations.
- Wait until the spring weather has warmed up a bit, then start cleaning. Empty the trash, tidy up the messy things, sweep up all the cobwebs, clean up the dust, then donate or get rid of anything you no longer need at home.
- Don't forget to clean the car, garage, small separate buildings in the yard, as well as a warehouse where gardening tools are kept.
- Delete the documents on the computer and electronic mail that accumulate. There's no better time than spring to get rid of all those messy digital documents! The neater your digital documents, the more time you will have to enjoy spring days.

Step 3. Consider redecorating, remodeling, or even moving to a new place
Spring is a great time to try to think about and assess the pros and cons of your current home, as well as to decide if your home could be a better place through additions or changes to the decor style.
- Redecoration doesn't have to be done all over the house. Tidying and beautifying your bedroom or living room may be enough for you and your family this year.
- Renovating a house takes time, especially when it comes to planning and applying for permits. The earlier you start thinking about it, the better.
- If you feel that your home is too small, too big, or not what you expected, and you don't want to renovate, take spring as an opportunity to sell your old home and look for a new one.
- If you're undecided about whether to renovate or move, read this article on how to decide whether to move or renovate your home, to help you make your decision.
Step 4. Revive your energy
In addition to cleaning your house, garden, and car, consider starting good habits that can benefit your health.
- Winter is a season filled with lots of eating, when compared to other seasons of the year. If you are stuck in unhealthy eating habits, use spring as an opportunity to improve your eating habits and start eating healthy and fresh foods again. Increase your intake of healthy nutrients and you will feel your energy increase again.
- Spring is an excellent time to make changes in diet and diet, as there are plenty of young vegetables, lettuce, and fresh fruit available. Benefit from these foods by eating them while they are still fresh; vegetables and fruits are most delicious consumed when they are young. Your tongue will be excited to eat it again and again!
- Eat food that is available locally and according to the season. Set a diet that refers to both the season and the local environment – and helping local farmers at the same time.
- Consider detoxifying your body. Some people undergo fasting as part of the body's detoxification process. Before you try to do it, first consult with your doctor, to make sure that it is safe for you.
- Improve your sleep schedule. If your sleep habits during winter are not good, improving your sleep schedule in the spring can help restore your energy. For more information, read the article How to Sleep Better.
- Get a massage treatment, or make an appointment for a day of body treatments at the spa.
Step 5. Change your appearance
You can make small changes like changing a new hairstyle, or big changes like throwing out all the clothes in the closet and replacing them with new ones. Whatever the form, spring is the perfect time to change your look.
- Your hair is always hidden under a scarf and under a hat during winter, so you may not like your hairstyle when spring comes. Discuss with the hair stylist about the latest hairstyle choices that can make you feel excited again with your appearance.
- Check your closet. Are your spring clothes still in good and usable condition? Or, if you are a fashion observer, do the clothes look outdated or maybe the model is "out of date"? When you're ready to get rid of it from the closet and replace it with a new one, spring is a great time to do so.
- Take breaks or weekends to thoroughly clean your closet. Keep only the clothes you really like; the rest you can donate or throw away. You'll have an excuse to shop for some new clothes that can be paired with the clothes you've stored.
- Now is a good time to throw away all the expired makeup. All makeup has an expiration date and doesn't last very long, so throw away any makeup that's old, hardened, or is in obvious disrepair.
- Read fashion websites or magazines to find trending clothing models. No need to buy everything; buy some clothes that can add a springy feel to the clothes you have. Then for even more ideas, read this article on how to create a stylish spring wardrobe.
Step 6. Smile, and take your time to notice the changes happening around you
Listen to the birds sing and make nests, watch the animals roaming around with their young, and watch the plants around you begin to surface, grow, and bloom. The world around you is starting over again; so you should be able to do that too.
Every week of spring brings changes that little by little bring spring to a stage full of signs of life around you. Look and notice all the little changes that make spring bloom
Method 2 of 2: Spending Time Outside
Step 1. Take care of lawns and gardens in your yard
After winter, home gardens need loving care and tenderness in order for plants to grow back healthily.
- Plant a garden with different plants that are appropriate for spring. Find out which plants need pruning or cleaning; some plants may need to be separated and now is a good time to cut them.
- Take a good look at the entire garden to think about what action to take. Do you need compost or a new layer of dry grass? Are there weeds that need to be removed?
- Plant Flowers. Nearby gardening shops usually get a shipment of annual or annual flowers that you can plant directly in the ground. You can also search and view the specific flower seeds available. When in doubt, you can plant sunflower seeds; Sunflowers are a great choice of flowers for beginners.
- Consider planting flowers at local community-organized plant-growing events – participating in these events is a great way to meet other people and beautify your surroundings.
- Do not forget to take care of the lawn in the yard. A lawn may never turn out to be as good as a flower-filled garden, but you also need to take care of it after the long winter days. You can fertilize, replant grass seeds, and/or aerate them to prepare the grass for the warm July sun.
Step 2. Create a vegetable garden
Now is a good time to start thinking about the plants you can harvest this summer. What types of vegetables do well in your area, and what are good spring and summer herbs? Read a book about gardening or ask your gardening neighbor if you need advice.
- If the compost is no longer working, stir again.
- If you can't or choose not to take care of your own garden, hire someone else to take care of it. You will feel happy just by seeing a neat and well-growing vegetable garden.
- If you don't have a garden, you can join a gardening community or share your garden with others. Spring is a good time to get to know and garden with new friends.
Step 3. Take your time watching the animals enjoying spring
You are not the only living being to “wake up” from a long winter slumber. Many signs of life abound in nature all around you, so enjoy.
- Build a birdhouse or bird feeder, so birds like cardinals and blue jays can come close. Or, head to the nearest garden pond and feed the ducks swimming above it with any crusty bread you have. Look at the ducklings that might as well be swimming in the pond.
- If you prefer to see birds in the wild rather than having them flock to you, go and bring an old binoculars for bird-watching in the sky. Or, take a nature walk and see what you find.
- Take your dog for long walks. Throughout the winter, you may only take your dog for a short walk to relieve himself. Now, go further and see what the dog will come across. (But be careful he doesn't follow the skunk!)
- If you really want to make the most of your spring time by observing the animals, pay a visit to the zoo. In addition to spending time outside, you also keep exercising. You'll see all kinds of animals enjoying spring, and maybe you'll see exotic baby animals.
Step 4. Capture the moments of the spring scene
Unfortunately, time passes quickly and before you know it, winter will come again. So, capture spring so you can remember it happily.
- Bring a camera when you go out for walks. Look for signs of spring appearing all over the place and take photos. You can later make these images as collages, decorations, and photo projects. Or, share the beauty of spring with others through the photos you upload on the internet.
- Try painting or drawing "en plein air" (a French word meaning 'to paint nature'). You'll be surprised once you find out how vivid the colors you use in the hot spring sun are and how many beauties are just around the corner to paint or sketch. Don't expect animals or birds to pose still while you're sketching, create a more impressionist painting. A painting is not a photograph; capturing the "feeling" in a painting is far more important than its accuracy.
Step 5. Enjoy spring actively
You may already be gardening and taking walks outside, but make the most of spring time. Spring is the season that is not too cold and not too hot, the weather is suitable for you to do activities.
- Get out the bike and start riding again to circle the neighborhood you live in. Gather your friends and spend time cycling. If you want to explore other places, bring a cell phone that has GPS settings turned on. You will discover some unexpected secret places and come back home in time!
- Take the kids to the nearest park or nature reserve. Bring a ball, racket, kite, and picnic basket. Spend an hour or so letting them frolic and eat lunch or dinner on a mat stretched out on the grass.
- Enjoy a spring sport like golf, or a sport that truly represents spring, namely basketball. You can watch it and play it too. Head to the spring training of your favorite basketball team and truly feel the warmth of spring!
- Go to some of the festivals held in your area. There are many festivals and other community events held during spring, including cherry blossom or tulip festivals. Find out what activities will be held in the area where you live or at your holiday destination, and have fun!
Step 6. Bring nature to save indoors (or vice versa)
You've spent the winter looking out the window and dreaming of going outside to play without having to put on several layers of clothing. Go play outside whenever you can; but if not, let some spring into the house.
- Open the windows of the house. Sounds simple, yes, but we are so used to climatic conditions that we often overlook the simple happiness that comes from the spring air that ripples in through the windows and caresses our faces. Take advantage of the spring to turn off the fireplace and air conditioner.
- Bring flowers to display indoors. Spring flowers bring joy to the home with their bright colors and sweet fragrance. Replace the flowers on display in the house with fresh new flowers regularly every week, during the spring. For more ideas, read articles on How to Make Flower Arrangements, make dishes from cut flowers, and How to Keep Cut Flowers Fresh.
- Do outdoor activities. Do not use a clothes dryer, dry your clothes outside. Clear out old picnic tables and eat dinner outdoors. Read a novel or write your monthly expenses on a mat instead of on the couch. Feel the warmth of the sun falling on your face, smell the fragrance of flowers, see how spring colors the world like in the Wizard of Oz world, and hear the birds sing. Spring has arrived and is now in our midst. So are you.
Tips
- Wear sunscreen if your skin burns easily.
- Bring a family member or friend with you when you are traveling outside or doing certain activities.
- Wear appropriate clothing based on the weather that day. Spring weather is fickle; so it's a good idea to bring a jacket when you travel outside. You can wear it when the wind gets strong or it rains or snows unexpectedly.
- Just as the seasons change, look for a new job if you are not happy with your current job. After all, you are trying to enjoy spring, and work is a big part of your daily life.
- Renew the New Year's resolutions that you have previously made. Do you remember it? Spring is a season of renewal and maybe you can only start realizing those resolutions now, when you start to be able to exercise outside and travel more often than in winter! Try to get back to making your dreams come true – if you want, you can even change the name to “spring resolutions”.
