This wikiHow teaches you how to add filters and special effects to videos, and edit them before uploading them to Stories.

Method 1 of 2: Adding Special Effects
Step 1. Open the Snapchat app
This app is marked by a white ghost icon on a yellow background.
Step 2. Touch and hold the big circle button to record a video
You can record videos with a duration of (maximum) 10 seconds.
Step 3. Release your finger from the button after you finish recording
Step 4. Swipe the screen right or left to add special effects
- If you haven't enabled the filter feature, tap the “Enable Filters” option to access the special effects.
- To play the video in slow motion (slow motion), touch the slug icon. To play it at a higher speed, touch the rabbit icon.
- To play the video in reverse (from end to beginning), tap the three arrows pointing backwards.
- Some filters can change the color and brightness of the video.
- Some other filters can add effects such as your moving speed, location, or time.
Step 5. Hold one finger on the screen and slide the screen using another finger to combine multiple filters
Some filters, such as the slow motion (snail icon) and fast forward (rabbit icon) filters, cannot be combined
Step 6. Touch the “Send” button
This button is shown with an arrow icon pointing to the right in the lower right corner of the screen.
Step 7. Select the video recipient
Step 8. Touch the “Send” button once again
Method 2 of 2: Editing a Video Story
Step 1. Swipe the screen to the left to open the Story page
Once you've uploaded a post to a Story, you won't be able to add special effects and filters to the video.
Step 2. Touch the three vertical dots button
It's at the top of the screen, next to the Story page. Once touched, all posts loaded in the Story will be displayed.
Step 3. Select one of the specific posts to load in your Story
Step 4. Touch the trash can icon to delete the post
Step 5. Touch the Delete button
After that, the post will be removed from the Story.
