Do you believe in magic? We all want to have the power to influence the world in supernatural ways. Although science has never found evidence to support the efficacy of spells and magic, many practitioners of Wicca, witchcraft and other occult arts believe that spells can harness invisible powers to achieve desires. Whether it's love, success, spiritual growth or revenge, mantras combine symbolism, special ingredients, verbal incantations, moon and star positions, concentration and belief in rituals to make your wishes come true.

Method 1 of 3: Spell Basics
Step 1. Purify yourself before starting any mantra
Before attempting to perform magic, your body and mind must enter a proper state and clear any doubts, demons or spiritual vices that may disturb you or distort the magic. Ideally, cleansing yourself is a ritual in itself, and will make your body feel relaxed and your mind clear.
- Bath. Take a long bath, make your skin really clean and take the tension off your muscles.
- Dress appropriately. If you have a special cloak or garment for performing magic, wear it. Otherwise, opt for formal but simple attire that feels light, comfortable and clean. You're asking for help with supernatural powers, so try to dress respectfully enough. If no one is around, some Wicca practitioners admit to practicing magic naked.
- Meditate until your mind is clear. Do some basic deep breathing to increase your focus and get rid of distracting urges.
- Oil yourself with the right oil. Different essential oils are used for different purposes, so if you want, find one or more that looks appropriate and works for your fingers, dab a small amount on your forehead, and possibly your hands, hair, face and chest.
Step 2. Clean up your room
If you're going to be doing magic indoors, make sure you won't be disturbed and tidy up the location where you're trying to do your spell. Visualize negative and disturbing energies dissipating as you clean the room.
After the room is physically clean, purify it spiritually by burning some incense, sprinkling some salt or holy water, or by playing clear notes with a musical instrument
Step 3. Arrange a circle or altar
You need a holy room to perform your rituals. It could be a circle to protect you from the interference of negative energies and spirits, an altar to focus your dedication on a particular element or deity, or some kind of combination of the two. You will perform the ritual in a circle or in front of the altar.
- Draw a circle large enough to sit on, or a pentacle star that sits inside the circle (called a pentacle). You can draw it physically or simply draw it in the air with your finger or stick. Visualize the protective energy emanating from your arm as you draw, closing the circle in a halo. You can mark important circles or star points with candles, stones or other important objects.
- Make a small high place to place a small statue of a god or other symbolic representation of divinity. The place doesn't have to be a hassle: a pile of books will suffice, if you treat it with respect. Consider adding candles, crystals, an incense stand or some object that is close to you spiritually, such as your heirloom or spell book.
Step 4. Engage divinity
Verbally summon a greater power to grant your spell. This could be a simple prayer for help from God or some kind of power, or something specific you write down for this mantra. Your chanting may also include body movements, music, dance or ritually lighting candles or placing objects.
Step 5. Focus your energy on your desires
Visualize the purpose of your mantra and imagine a light flowing from you and into it. Visualize your wish coming true. The more you see the energies in your mind's eye alive, the more real it will become.
Step 6. Say your mantra
For each mantra, write a short stanza that describes your wish and ask it to be granted. No need for a rhyme, but rhymes, alliteration, rhythm and other poetic structures help in concentration and memory. Say the mantra clearly and confidently as you visualize.
Step 7. Seal the agreement
A good spell should have an element of "throwing" objects to represent your desire to get out into the universe. Tear or burn a piece of paper with your wish (or a symbol representing your wish) written on it; throw stones or symbolic objects; breathe a candle; or pour or drink a potion.
Step 8. Say thanks and clean up
Say thank you to any specific divinity you involve. Lower your excess energy by visualizing it flowing into the ground. Delete your circle, if necessary, and dismantle your altar if you will no longer be using it. Gather your gear and leave the room. Your spell has been completed. Consider doing something mundane, like eating something, to center yourself.
Method 2 of 3: Occult Considerations
Step 1. Look at the universe
Many sorcerers consider the phases of the moon, time of day, and other astrological configurations to be of great significance in the efficacy of any spell. For example, a mantra that aims to start a new chapter of life must be chanted during the new moon, so that your wishes can come true when the moon is full. Some occult research will help you figure out how to optimize the timing of your spells.
Step 2. Coordinate your colors
Colors have different meanings in a magic system. Once you've figured out what they mean, choose a color or two that suit your intentions and use colored candles or crystals to incorporate into your spell.
Step 3. Use plants, oils, stones and natural objects
To occultists, all of these things had some sort of magical meaning. Visit a new age shop in your area to buy ingredients that will power your spells.
Step 4. Familiarize yourself with the greater power
Various occultists can summon various divinities and religious figures to perform their magic. Find a system of spiritual symbolism that works for you, and include those characters in your spell. But beware - some of these spirits have thoughts of their own and can twist your intentions if you can't control them.
Step 5. Rest assured
In the end, the whole point of casting a spell is directing your mind's energy toward a goal. Whether or not something supernatural happens because of your spell, stating your goals clearly and ritually can help you focus, give you confidence and make you work harder to make them a reality. The more you believe in the power of your spell, the more it will have a positive effect on you.
Method 3 of 3: Seashell Charm
Step 1. Find clams in shallow water
Take it out and dry it well. This is a simple magic spell to make a common wish come true. Use it to put your will into the universe by summoning the power of water and moon.
Step 2. Take or create a symbol of your wish and place it on the shell
You can draw your own symbols, or you can search for symbols related to your area of desire (love, family, health, success, and so on). Paint the surface of the shell with chalk, charcoal or other object that will be erased in the water.
Step 3. Place the shells on the sea or lakeside
Place it where the waves will carry the shells at high tide. The symbol on the shell should face up-towards the moon.
Keep the moon phase in mind as you do this. Use the time when the moon is getting bigger if you want to get something and when the moon is getting smaller if you want to get rid of something
Step 4. Draw a triangle on the sand
Your shell should be in the center of the triangle.
Meaningful words and sentences can also be drawn on the sand, as long as they are inside the triangle. Optionally, you can write it directly on the shell
Step 5. Chant this spell while facing the moon
Concentrate on your desires and try to say the mantra with respect and conviction.

Step 6. Leave the area trusting your wish will come true
As the waves rise, the shells will be carried away, and your wishes will be carried by the universe, to any elders or gods you believe in. You will feel the results in 7-28 days.
