40 is the new 30 age trend. With a gap of 10 years, you need to look like you are 30. This is easier now than ever before. With the right look, habits, and attitude, everyone will wonder how you can be so wise at such a young age.
Step
Part 1 of 3: Taking Care of Your Face
Step 1. Change your make-up according to your age
Our skin naturally changes over time. Imagine if you used the make-up you used to cover up your pimples when you were in school! And although you may not realize it, your skin changes from ages 25-30, 30-35, and 35 to 40. It's time to update your make-up, you want a very light dab that makes you shine. It is your natural beauty that is ready to be the center of attention.
- Stay away from thick liquid eyeliner on less toned skin. Use a thick pencil for a smokey eye look at night. During the day, a little mascara and a touch of eyeliner are more than enough.
- Don't wear too much make-up! There are very few opportunities or situations to wear a lot of makeup in your 20s, and even less in your 40s. Keep it simple. Now, your skin is beautiful. You don't need it!
Step 2. Learn how to contour your face
Adding low-lights around the edges of your chin and forehead will add depth to your face, highlighting the bright areas and your cheekbones. It's no longer about hiding blemishes and looking fresh. It literally brings out your best features.
Add highlighter to the "t-zone" of your face, this includes the middle forehead, nose, and chin. These places are closest to the light source, so they should be bright. Use a makeup brush with a small amount of cream concealer or pressed powder and blend highlighter into these areas
Step 3. Use an anti-aging or anti-aging cleanser
One of the simplest things you can do for yourself is to cleanse with an anti-aging cleanser every morning and night (or as your skin needs). Make-up shouldn't be left on your face and using an anti-aging cleanser can leave your skin feeling exposed and breathable. It also goes into your pores, tightening and making them glow.
Get into a beauty routine or program that you can do and that you think will work. This should include cleansers, light makeup, and anti-aging creams and lotions. Try several products to find which one works best for you
Step 4. Use a night cream too
Take advantage of the 8 hours or so you have each night and get your skin working, repairing itself. The night cream absorbs into the pores and acts as a collagen booster, slowing the progress of wrinkles and skin damage.
Feeling ambitious? You can use a morning cream too. It will definitely beat the skin from the botox results and it's much better for you in the long run
Part 2 of 3: Taking care of your body
Step 1. Drink plenty of water, green tea, and the occasional glass of red wine
Hopefully water is a pretty easy thing; 8 glasses a day will keep your body hydrated, your skin glowing, and hair and nails growing. But green tea (and plenty of it) and the occasional glass of red wine are fine too. They are rich with antioxidants that keep your insides 100% safe.
Feel free to drink as much green tea as you want, if you haven't already, a glass in the morning is a good thing to start with. And when it comes to red wine, drink only one glass a day. More than that, cholesterol will increase and the positive effects of antioxidants will disappear
Step 2. Stick to a healthy diet
This is good advice for everyone: when you feel good on the inside, you will feel good on the outside. Concentrate on eating lots of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and lean meats. Stay away from processed junk food; whatever comes in a package, is truly the best. Your body wants fresh and natural food and looks fresh and natural
- If you're struggling to lose weight and have never found a diet that works, read the wikiHow How to Choose a Diet that's Right for You for extensive information on at least two dozen popular diets today.
- The older you get, the slower your metabolism gets and the more you have to be careful about what you eat. Nothing is forbidden, but everything must be consumed in the right portion.
Step 3. Build the Muscles
Cardio is great for the mind and body, but even the thinnest of people need to stay strong and toned. In your 40s, you want to target your arms, abs, and butt. That means pull ups, push ups, sit-ups, squats, and lunges. Sounds like bad news, but you can do all of that in your own home, a few minutes at a time or even while watching TV.
- Set a goal of thirty minutes of exercise a day, with a combination of cardio and weight training. Recent research states that a combination of both types of exercise is best for speeding up fat loss.
- The older you get, the thicker the stratum corneum (layer of your skin). This causes wrinkles and cellulite, among other skin damage. However, calm down practice can prevent this from happening. In a recent study, people who were older and who exercised had better skin than those who didn't.
Step 4. Get rid of unwanted hair
Often with increasing age, unwanted hair appears in unwanted areas. One day you will glance in the mirror with the wrong angle of view and see this problem has grown more and more in the last few months. To keep this from happening, go for waxing or with Thermal Energy Technology, LHE, & Light which can remove hair with a laser. This method is increasingly affordable, especially for small areas such as the chin and upper lip.
If you have the time and a few cups of sugar, why not wax yourself at home? It's cheaper and only takes a few minutes. What's more, sugar wax can make your skin soft like a baby
Step 5. Avoid sun exposure
As we get older, the sun exposure we experienced as teenagers begins to show up in the form of dark spots, blotches, and sometimes even melanoma or cancer. While you can't change your tactless actions as a teenager, you can start avoiding the sun now. And the good news: pale skin is in vogue!
Apply SPF 15 lotion regularly when going out and the sun is unavoidable. This will moisturize your skin, also keeping it hydrated and glowing
Step 6. Dress in the best style for your body
Just because you're in your 40s doesn't mean you have to button up and hide your body. While you have to be mature and professional, you also have to feel sexy, comfortable, and fashionable.
- Consider your body shape. What do you want to highlight and what do you want to hide? Play what makes you proud.
- Fill your closet with classic outfits that you can transform into dozens of different outfits. Make people say, "That one over there is 30 years old."
Part 3 of 3: Caring for Hair, Teeth and Nails
Step 1. Dye your hair with the right color
Gray is a dead color for your age, although it will look fine on some people. If you're not one of them, feel free to cover it up. Choose a natural color that is only one or two colors above your natural hair color.
If you're really gray, you might want to color your eyebrows too; it might make you look younger too if the eyebrows are also discolored
Step 2. If you wish, lengthen your hair
Just because you stopped chewing your hair in algebra class doesn't mean you can't have long hair. Sure, it's a bit difficult and tedious, but your hair will be beautiful! Layer and highlight layers and you can instantly look trendy and younger.
That is, if you want long hair. You might break it off after years of dealing with it, and become unworthy anymore. While long hair can be an indicator of youth, as long as your hair is cared for, you will look good
Step 3. Whiten your teeth
With age comes experience… the experience of smoking, drinking coffee, and teeth turning yellow or gray. Take the initiative and whiten your teeth, either with a tool or at the dentist. Teeth don't have to be dazzling white, just natural ivory like 10 years ago.
There are several tools out there that you can do at home for a few days to a few weeks. Most require about 30 minutes a day. And if that's not enough, there are often whitening toothpastes you can combine with tools too
Step 4. Pay attention to your nails
As our hormones change as we age, it's natural for nails to become a little brittle. Work around this by applying a nail polish to your nails, or using a nail polisher in the form of colored nail polish. Treat nails to keep them flat but still attractive.
