This wikiHow teaches you how to be someone's best friend or “Best Friend” on Snapchat. “Best Friends” are the friends you interact with the most.

Method 1 of 2: Sending Photos and Videos
Step 1. Open Snapchat
This application is marked by a yellow icon with a white ghost image. After that, the camera page will open.
Step 2. Touch the shutter button to take the photo
It's a large circle button at the bottom of the screen. The camera will capture whatever image is displayed on the screen.
- To record a video, touch and hold the shutter button for (maximum) 10 seconds.
- You can switch from the front camera to the rear camera by touching the two arrow buttons that form a square in the upper right corner of the screen.
- You can tap the icons at the top of the screen to add text, stickers, and doodles to the post.
- Swipe the screen right or left to apply a filter to the post.
- If you don't like the captured post, touch the “ X ” in the upper-left corner of the screen to delete it.
Step 3. Touch the Send to arrow
It's in the lower-right corner of the screen.
Step 4. Touch the contact or user you want to be friends with

The photo or video you take will be sent to the user you want to befriend.
Step 6. Send some photos or videos to the concerned user
By uploading photos and videos to someone more often, you can add them to your friends list (“Best Friends”). The more posts you upload for that user, the more likely they are to become friends. This also applies if your friends frequently send you photos or videos.
Step 7. Check your friend's emoji status
You can check the status of friends by looking at the menu that is displayed when you touch the “ Send to The “Best Friends” list will appear at the top of the friends list, above “Friends” and “Quick Add”. When you're friends with someone, you can see an emoji next to their name on your friends list.
- The yellow heart is suddenly a new friend (“New BFF”). If you don't send photos or videos often, this emoji signifies that you are the user's number 1 friend, and he becomes your best friend.

Step 1. Open Snapchat

Step 2. Swipe the screen to the right to display the chat window
You can also tap the chat icon (“Chat”) in the lower-left corner of the screen
Step 3. Tap on the new chat button (“New Chat”) which is on the top right corner of the screen
After that, a list of Snapchat contacts will be displayed.
You can also search for the username in the search field at the top of the page
Step 4. Touch the friend you want to be friends with
After that, a blue button will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.
Step 5. Touch the Chat button
After that, the chat page will open.
Step 6. Type in your message
The message will appear in the text field above the keyboard. You can use the buttons above the keyboard to add messages. You can use any type of interaction to be someone's best friend. Therefore, use whatever options are available:
- Touch the photo button to open the device gallery and send the photo.
- Touch the phone button to call the friend in question. He will get a notification that you contact him.
- Press and hold the phone button to record a voice message. You can record a message for (maximum) 10 seconds which the recipient can later listen to.

Tips
- The list of friends (“Best Friends List”) may change daily, depending on the users you interact with. Check with your friends regularly for changes that may occur.
- Even if you're already sharing photos or videos with someone, if you're not friendly with them, you still need to increase your interactions with them. You may need to submit at least one post each day.
- If your friend displays one of the emoji statuses (as described earlier), they will see the same emoji next to your name in their friends list.
