This wikiHow teaches you how to enable AirPlay on your iPhone, Mac computer, or Apple TV device. AirPlay is a mirroring service that allows you to broadcast content on your Apple device screen to your Apple TV. In addition, AirPlay also allows you to play audio through speakers compatible with the service, such as the HomePod.

Method 1 of 3: On iPhone
Step 1. Turn on the Bluetooth of the device
If iPhone Bluetooth is off, follow these steps:

Open the device settings menu
(“ Settings ”).
- Touch " Bluetooth ”.

Touch the white "Off" switch
Step 2. Connect the device to a WiFi network if necessary
iPhone must be connected to a WiFi network that is also used by the second AirPlay device (e.g. Apple TV).
If you want to use a second AirPlay device over a set of speakers, you can skip this step
Step 3. Make sure the second AirPlay device you want to use is turned on
If the device is still turned off, turn on the device first.
Step 4. Open the control center window or “Control Center”
Swipe up from the bottom of the device screen.
On iPhone X, swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen
Step 5. Touch Screen Mirroring
It's in the middle of the "Control Center" window. A pop-up menu will be displayed.
Step 6. Select a broadcasting device
On the pop-up menu, touch the device you want to use via AirPlay.
Step 7. Use AirPlay from Music app
If you have speakers equipped with AirPlay 2 service, you can play music on iPhone and play loudspeakers via AirPlay:
- Open the Music app.
- Play the desired song.
- Swipe the screen and touch the AirPlay triangle icon.
- Touch the device you want to use to play and amplify music.
Method 2 of 3: On Mac Computer
Step 1. Turn on the Bluetooth of the computer
If Bluetooth is still off on the computer, turn it on first.
Step 2. Connect the computer to a WiFi network if necessary
The computer must be connected to the same WiFi network as the second AirPlay device.
Step 3. Make sure the second AirPlay device that you want to use is turned on
If not, turn on the device first.
Step 4. Click the “AirPlay” icon
The triangle icon above this box is on the right side of the menu bar, at the top of your computer screen. A drop-down menu will appear after that.
Step 5. Click Turn AirPlay On
This option is in the drop-down menu. AirPlay will be enabled on the computer.
If you see the option “ Turn AirPlay Off ” in the drop-down menu, AirPlay is already enabled on the computer.
Step 6. Select a broadcasting device
Click the device you want to use to broadcast or display computer screen content in the drop-down menu.
Step 7. Play music from iTunes via AirPlay
If you want to use AirPlay to listen to music instead of broadcasting content on your computer screen, follow these steps:
- Open iTunes.
- Play the desired music.
- Click the AirPlay icon to the right of the volume slider.
- Click the device you want to use (eg loudspeaker) to play and amplify music.
Method 3 of 3: On Apple TV
Step 1. Open Apple TV settings menu
(“Settings”).
Select the settings menu icon or “Settings” which looks like a gray box with gears from the Apple TV home screen.
Step 2. Select AirPlay
This option is on the “Settings” page.
Step 3. Select AirPlay
It's near the top of the “AirPlay” menu.
Step 4. Select On
AirPlay will be enabled on the device.
If the option is selected by default, AirPlay is already enabled on the Apple TV
Step 5. Go back to the “AirPlay” menu
Press the button Menu ” on the controller to return to the menu.
Step 6. Select Allow Access
This option is at the top of the screen.
Step 7. Select Everyone
It's in the middle of the menu. With this option, anyone connected to your WiFi network can connect their device to Apple TV via AirPlay.
