Do you have a calculator but can't turn it off? Many ordinary calculators do not have an OFF button. Usually this kind of calculator is designed to turn off automatically after a few minutes of not being used. If you need to turn off the calculator immediately, use some quick methods like these.

Method 1 of 6: Solar Calculator and Ordinary Calculator
Step 1. Wait until the calculator turns itself off
Most calculators will turn themselves off after a few minutes of not being used. If you don't use it, just let it sit for a few minutes and the calculator will turn itself off.
Step 2. Press a combination of several keys
Any of the following combinations can turn off your calculator. Press and hold the following buttons:
- 2 3
- 5 6
- ÷ ×
- 9 -
- 1 2 4 6
- 1 3 4 5
- 1 2 3
Step 3. Press and hold the ON, C/CE, or AC button for a moment while holding down the button above
With the right combination of buttons above, the calculator will turn off.
Step 4. Try covering the solar panels
You can force the solar panel off by placing your thumb over the entire solar panel. As soon as the calculator stops receiving light, it will start to dim and then turn off.
Method 2 of 6: Citizen Calculator
Step 1. Wait until the calculator turns itself off
Citizen Calculator will turn off about eight minutes after last use. The calculator should turn itself off.
Step 2. Use the key combination to force it off
The following key combination will turn off most Citizen branded calculators:

Method 3 of 6: Texas Instruments Chart Calculator or Scientific Calculator
Step 1. Locate the 2nd. button and on.
On most TI graphing calculators, the 2nd button is the colored button on the left side. This color may vary on different calculator models, but it usually stands out from the rest of the buttons. The On button is usually located on the right side above the number pad.
On some calculator models, the On button is in the lower-left corner
Step 2. Press the 2nd button
After that, the second function on all the buttons will open.
Step 3. Press ON
After that, the calculator will turn off.
To turn off the Nspire TI calculator, press the button Ctrl followed by button On.
Method 4 of 6: Casio Graphics Calculator or Scientific Calculator
Step 1. Locate the Shift. key and AIR CONDITIONING.
On most Casio graphing calculators and scientific calculators, the Shift key is in the upper-left corner at the bottom of the screen. Meanwhile, the On button is on the right side, above the number pad.
Step 2. Press Shift key
This button will open all the secondary functions of the other buttons.
Step 3. Press AC
The secondary function of the AC button is off. Thus, the calculator will turn off.
Method 5 of 6: HP Graphics Calculator or Scientific Calculator
Step 1. Locate the Shift. key and on.
On most HP calculators, the Shift key is located on the left side. Meanwhile, the On button can be located on the right side or in the lower left corner.
Step 2. Press Shift
After that, the secondary function of the calculator button will open.

Method 6 of 6: Casio DJ Series Calculator
Step 1. Press and hold the DISP button
The DISP button is usually located on the left side of the calculator. Press and hold this button.

This button is usually located on the right side or near the very top of the calculator. Make sure you are still holding down the DISP button while pressing the Correct button.
Step 3. Release both buttons
Pressing and holding the DISP and Correct buttons simultaneously will turn off the calculator.
